  1. The word I got from my friend that owns a local Dodge dealership is that most

dealers won't even get one until the end of the month. Dodge usually send them

out all at once and he was told that they just started actual production on the

27th of April so they are just starting to roll out now. most shipping won't start

    till mid May.

Anyone near the plant that is producing these???

  2. Riding point I am always on left side of lane. Gives me better visibility of the oncoming

traffic, helps protect rider 2 from left turn in front of them since they will see my lights

and also allows rider 3 just that little bit longer to react if there is a problem with the oncoming. Finally if there is an obstacle in the lane it will most likely be to my right and

I would rather pump the right leg on the away from traffic side than the left leg.

  3. Pete,

What Brian said summed it up very well. I am 6'2" with 36" inseam.

I looked and rode quite a few different rides including the GW, RK,

Ultra Classic and others. This was the only one that gave me the

leg room I wanted. As for paxs comfort my sweetie is so comfortable

back there that she has fallen asleep a few times.

Regarding the rear lighting I did mine for about $50 using LED's.

I can put on 350 to 400 miles a day and not be hurting when I get off.

What ever you select enjoy the ride.

  4. I used Libby's for a charging problem. Got the bike back and had problems again. Checked the battery and they had not even tightened the connections. Did it myself and it worked fine. Also took 3 days for what ended up being a battery change. When I asked the Service Manager about the changing of the clutch basket he gave me the blank stare and the "I have no idea what you are talking about". I stopped by RER in Monroe and talked with the mechanic there. He knew exactly what I was talking about. I've not had them do any work yet but will go to them because they at least knew what I was asking about.

  5. Rode up to Maine this last weekend. Was $3.65 to $3.69 here in CT..

In NH it was $3.45. That means that CT made at least 7% more in profit than NH.

Oh I'm sorry make that 7% more of a 100% profit. It doesn't cost them anything

cause they don't have the expense of producing anything.

    Aren't taxes great:confused24:

  6. Gary,

I have been following your trial and tribulation since I joined this site. I am sorry I have not spoken up to you before now but I feel a strong conviction to do so now. I have been in your shoes with my wife many years ago. Our accident involved an airplane rather than a motorcycle but the results were the same. I am glad to hear that you are able to recognize a good day when you get them. They truly are a gift. As you relearn how to recognize them they will appear more often. Also be glad for the not so good days. They help keep your memories refreshed and eventually you will be able to resend them up as a gift of thankfulness. Don't know if my words make sense to you but believe me when I tell you that my heart and my prayers are daily lifting you up to continue to refind that calm spot that you shared with your wife.

  7. This does not require you in the picture (For those who ride solo).

This is about location and timing.

    Your bike,

A single engine passenger carrying airplane,

    Taking off or landing.

By the way, first gens do not count as airplanes, contrary to any illusions they my have about this! :322:

  8. Okay folks here it is.

Me, my bike, a cop car (errrr make that THREE COP CARS) at a donut shop (Dunkin Donuts) AND I got one of the cops to take the pic.

By the way the city went to the Dodge Charger for the police and now the only ones that do not drive the Charger are the Supervisors. Note that NONE of the cars are Chargers therefore making all these police officers Supervisors. :cool10::cool10::cool10:

    Does this one count?

  9. Watched a guy "lane splitting""lane sharing", what ever you want to call it,

during rush hour with traffic at a near stand still but not quite. Just as he

got to the front end of a semi the car in front of the semi jolted left into a

hole that had opened in the left lane. Pow, right over the front end of the bike.

Head into side of car. Ended up walking away from it but bike was still wrecked

and I am sure he was hurting for quite a while after that.

They are ALL trying to kill me any way, why would I do anything to help them

    complete their mission?

Just because it's legal doesn't mean its safe.

  10. I was sure that one of the vans was a full of a youth soccer team on the way to their first championship game after 4 straight losing seasons and the other was a church group out for a nice days picnic. Thanks for straightening me out on that one.

    :whistling:

  11. This was taken at the State Trooper HDQ in Bridgeport CT.

I didn't tell the trooper the whole truth about why I wanted his pic.

The Dunkin Donuts is across the street. Location Location Location

The 3rd pich is a zoom in on the sign.

    Does this count???

  12. That Spyder looks like a 4 wheeler they tried to make street legal.

Watched the vid and the rider was having to lean quite a bit to get it to turn.

If I were going with a radical design change I would want it to lean like

a bike such as the first one does or the Carver.

  13. Nope, the bike is pretty much as it came from the factory...all the minor mods I have done were mostly above the frame.....

Ive heard of that stuff...just never tried it....have you?

Nope never had but been thinking about it. Haven't heard anyone that has used it regret it or have problems with it so might use it if I do the Maine to San Diego trip this year.

  14. I use to know a guy named Switch.

We named him that because he switched off all the engines on our aircraft at a remote strip

in the arctic of Alaska. There was no ground start unit and the internal start unit (apu)

was inop. Had to arraign to fly the start equipment in and it was two days getting out of

    there. Happy campers all.

Hmmmm, hope this is not an omen!!!

By the way he is now an FAA inspector!!! Hmmmmm

  15. Seen one at the dealer when went looking for gloves. Test rode it. Loved it. Bought it.

Figured after that I aught to learn what I had just bought so did a Google search on

"Venture Forums" and there here I am. I know I know, got it a bit backwards but I was only looking for a pair of gloves!!!

  16. I'm not a tire expert by any stretch of the imagination but I do know how to use my common sense. There was a prior thread here about this very subject and I read it quite thoroughly. After all the reviewing I finally came to the conclusion that I have very little rubber meeting the road as it is and to reduce that in a corner, where I need it the most, would not be very wise. The picture of the GW on the dragon quite clearly demonstrated that to me. Look at that picture on the post on page 4 half way down.

What I save on the tires ain't worth it to me.

    Just my 2:2cents:
