  1. Thanks, do you know how hard it is to keep the drool off the keyboard.

Moose meat is second only to Elk in my book. So sweet it's like eating candy to me.

Bambi on the table yum yum yum

Thumper in a stew for me and you

(sorry :confused24: just couldn't stop myself after seeing all that delicious meet)

  2. Every Veterans day I would take my sons out and we would make it a point to find a Veteran to shake their hand and say thank you. If we were not sure we would ask them. Rarely were we wrong. My sons still carry on this tradition to this day. Don't forget our Veterans from the Korean war either. I have had the honor of meeting many and they all say that it was the first time anyone had thanked them.

To ALL the Veterans here my family and I say thank you for your service and our freedoms.

  3. You know when it's really bad? When your on your Venture and your passenger makes you pull over so they can get the hell off the bike. (Don't ask me how I know this) :whistling:

  4. Boomer,

I am not sure which ones you have but I got the bullet type from Wally World and mounted them on the deflectors. Used a small section of aluminum tubing and flanged one end. This allows me to not only adjust the lights up and down but in and out as well. I than used some chrome colored wire covering to pretty it up some. Here are the pics. Hope this helps you some.

Also, if you are using this light, make sure you use a little bit of Locktite on the lens ring or they will vibrate off.

  5. Another part that most people don't know about is what St. Judes does for children of parents that have cancer. When my kids mom was diagnosed with cancer several years back I was trying to figure out a way to explain it to them in terms they could understand. I checked with local resources but couldn't find anything appropriate for their ages. I finally though of St. Judes and gave them a call. They spent lots of time talking with me and helping me find ways to explain to my children what was going on. They sent material, such as coloring books and reading books, specific to each one of the kid's age and included a note to each one of them. Throughout the next 8 months they called every so often just to check on us and to see how the kids where doing and to help answer any questions they had. When my wife passed away they sent cards to the children individually.

Because of the support of St. Judes my children were able to understand what was happening to their mother and were not afraid when things like lossing her hair started to occur. The folks there are people who truly care about children and how they not only beat cancer, but how they deal with it as a family as well.

As a recipient of this care and concern they show each and every day I have to say thanks to all of you for the support you are showing to St. Judes. They really do make a difference every day and in ways you can't even begin to imagine.

  6. I like the looks but pics seem to show that it would not be very comfortable for us long legged folks.

Also did not see a rear shot so I wonder about the lighting package on the rear.

Like the idea of the amp availability.

Be interesting to see and ride.

  7. Took a while and several tries for me to get the cops and the donut shop and my bike and then I got three :bobby::bobby::bobby: supervisors at the same time with one of them :photographing:taking the picture.

Have faith :fingers-crossed-emo that the results will occur and they will most likely be greater than anticipated.:big-grin-emoticon:

  8. Sn a VMax a few weeks ago out on Long Island. Had a Holly 450 cfm AND he designed and added a belt driven Turbo Charger. Said it dyno'ed out at 280 hp at the REAR Wheel. Now that's a fast bike. Should have seen the frame stiffeners he had added to that bad Bob. Asked if he had ever opened it up. He said no he was to scared to and that the only reason he did it was "because he thought he could". And he was right

  9. Thanks all for the input. I have decided to use Haul Bikes. Checked multiple resources and got back nothing but good remarks about them and no bad comments anywhere. Getting it done for $796 all inclusive door - to - door which isn't bad at all.

  10. I'm moving from CT to SoCal. Anyone ever ship their Venture?

I know, I know, I would rather ride it out but time constraints and other events won't allow that.

If so who did you use and why? Any ones to look out for?

Looking at JC Motors Motorcycle Shipping just less than a grand coast to coast.

Any one know of their rep?

    Ideas, thoughts suggestions?

  11. Just a quick question here.

How many 1st gens you have to have to keep one on the road???

Oh wait, never mind I figured it out.

Lots, so you can keep up with the 2nd gens that actually run.

    :nanner:

Sorry, but for some reason I just couldn't resist.

  12. This will both amaze you and touch your heart at the same time.

It is about 7 minutes long but worth it.

Make sure your sound is on as well

    Enjoy

  13. Went to Marcus Dairy in CT near the CT/NY boarder today. Big meet every Sunday morning there. Pulled in and parked next to an 08 then went walking the bikes (maybe 400 to 500). Went to front on building and seen two more 08's parked side by side. I've had mine for a year now and haven't seen but one on the road so see three at the same time actually parked was cool. Talked to all three of the owners and told them about this site. Sure hope they make it here.

The pair at the front was two buddies who had bought their bikes together. I asked if either of them had done the leveling link yet and they not only told me no but that for the shorter of them the dealer had actually lowered the rear end. I asked him about the low speed handling and he was very descriptive (would quote him but this is a family site) about his feelings on that subject as said he was was getting sick and tired of dropping it in the parking lot. We talked a bit and I told him that instead of lower the rear end he should go back to the dealer and have them return it to stock height and then come here and learn how to drop the front end. After I got done explaining how the geometry was made worse by dropping the rear end I thought his buddy was going to bust a gut. All he could do was bust his chops about letting the dealer do the exact opposite of what needed to be done to get the results he really wanted. Got a feeling these guys will fit right in here. Sure hope they show up here and get it right. This is to great a ride to let something like that discourage someone from owning one.
