  1. Ok Nevermind, I found what I need. Took me a minute to figure out what to call it. Cheers!!
  2. Does anyone know where I can find a pair of these small diaphrams and one of the springs? I think these are kinda tore up. and I am missing a spring. what am I looking for? these are for the coast circuit right? Thanks in advance!!
  3. I don't use a Roku, but I am a big user of Android TV boxes and am a big fan of the M8s Pro L with the S912 chip. Its a fast box and since it is android has access to the play store. I get apps from there as well as can sideload other apps that can get you whatever you want. May be an option if you are looking to switch it up a bit. There is a Youtube channel called Electrical MD that has a ton of info on this subject. Hope this helps. Cheers
  4. Nah, bought it that way. I got the bike from a man who bought it from an estate sale. and there were no keys. Paperwork was clean, so I bought it. everything was locked up and on first look it had no tank cover fuel door etc. I paid $200 for it and got it home and drilled the locks for the bags and trunk and I am starting the teardown on the carbs. When I opened the trunk and bags the rest of the bike was packed in there. so I have a complete bike. but it's been sitting for at least 5 years. carbs were frozen shut. Nastiest things I've worked on so far. So new kits and slides for them (I killed a slide getting it to break loose). I found the slides from a gentleman in SoCal for a really good price so I couldnt pass that up. I just spent about $400 on everything I needed to get her running today and need to get a few things ready for when those parts come in.
  5. I appreciate the response ya'll. I have a pile of parts coming and want to be ahead of the curve. New lock set, Carb Kits, Carb Slides, Fuel pump (just in case), Battery, new Allen head screws for the carbs (because the security heads suck), Oh and a new Carb Sync gauge set so I can tune this bike right So while waiting, I need to pull the old locks, drain the fuel tank and check it out, more cleaning, more cleaning, more cleaning. Thanks for the info!!
  6. Awesome! Thanks Snyper, I figured it had been answered but then I kept finding things saying that there were security bolts being used. I was really hoping I didn't have to remove the upper fairing. Thanks for the answer. Cheers!! Michael
  7. Hi, Sorry to ask a dumb question if its already been answered but I have not found anything in my search. Am I correct that the Ignition switch on the 88 VR is attached with a pair of 10mm bolts? Or are they using some kind of one time safety lock kind of bolt? I just ordered a new lock set for my bike and need to pull the original one as I don't have a key for it. I have heard that it can be reached from under the fairing with a ratchet and a few extensions but I cant see the bolt and I don't have a mirror ( I really need to get one). Thanks in advance.
  8. I just moved into a new house and had to install lights in my garage / shop. I picked up a set of 6 T5 Led lights off of Amazon for less than $50 and OMG they are bright!!! They are made by a company called Barrina. I would leave a link below, but I am too new to the group. Go on Amazon, and run a search on Barrina T5 LED and they will come up. I got the one at the top of the list, the 6500K ones for $48.99. If you need lights, these are the ones to get. And they are easy to setup. I had mine installed in about an hour. Sorry I didn't mean to jack your thread, I just had to comment since someone was talking about garage lights. Cheers Mike
  9. I saw that too, but look to the right of that link he posted and there is a link that says view original post. Nice find!!
  10. the only thing I see wrong with the one in KS is that there is no title. I don't know about your state, but for me in Cali, if I get a bike in-state without a title and it is less than $4000 then no biggie, bill of sale is fine and maybe a statement of fact. But if I get a "parts bike" from out of state it better have a title because there is no way to title it otherwise. And you need papers for the frame and or the motor. So, I would say check with the DMV where you are and go from there. On the other hand Puc has a frame he is willing to give you. maybe it would be worth the $300 or so and see what it would take to ship it? I dunno, just a thought...
  11. I know this is an old thread. But that being said, I have used the Mr Gasket 42S fuel pump from autozone (or napa, oreilley's, etc) on my 88 Honda shadow that had the same problem and it worked great. Mr hasket makes 2 universal pumps. The 42S is rated for a max pressure of 3.5psi and the other one is the 12S and is rated for 4-7psi. If you use the 12S you will definetly need some kind of regulator but on my shadow the original pump was doing the same kind of thing where it had a max of less than 3psi. the 42S worked great and I had put several thousand miles on that. The Venture's carbs should be able to handle that. I am going through my 88 Venture now and will most likely have to do this swap on it.
  12. Congrats on the new bike!! Looks like you have a good one. I just picked up a 88 Royale and am in the process of pulling the carbs and cleaning. Lots of cleaning. And Puc, Thank you for all your information. I found you on YouTube and have been learning a lot. Cheers from SoCal!!
  13. I know that this thread is a bit long in the tooth, but what you are looking for is an IPTV service that you can use with the roku. there are instructions on the web on setting up an iptv service on the roku and it is fairly straight forward. I use a service called Vader Streams but there are a number of them out there. you get what you pay for. I agree that if you have stations in a 50-60 mile radius of you then a big antenna works also. but if what you want to do is stream over the internet, then IPTV is the way to go. And for the record this IS a grey area. you do this at your own risk. that being said, I have been using services like this for a few years now and have been pretty happy with them. the faster your internet connection is the better though especially if you have more than one tv/device in the house streaming or gaming or pulling on that internet connection.
