  1. So what do you all think of this supposedly one owner Gen1? https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1986-yamaha-venture-royale/6625244967.html Does it look like a couple lines aren't hooked up to anything on the 10th picture? Wonder if it would clean up nice...
  2. We need to have an accountant do ours as I'm a partner in a Minnesota S-Corp living in WI and also a limited partnership were we own the building that our main company rents. Anyway our taxes are done and when the accountant sent my files back they apparently ended up all over the floor in the main USPS sorting station and I was missing several documents with SSN's and addresses and such so ended up having to freeze our credit with the 3 credit bureau's... We've had so much mail come damaged it's ridiculous. My Wife's W2 came to use two weeks late ripped in half in a plastic bag that had sorry written on it!! Just venting sorry.... Oh yeah of course we had to pay too...
  3. Should be able to bt your droid, I know it's not the same as Android auto but its a start.
  4. The only negative I see is the decreased storage capacity. Down 40 litres from the current wing. Heck I think my fjr with my 57l Givi has more. The topcase luggage rack also looks small. Guess a trailer hitch NEEDS to be made for it... But looks like they fixed most of the complaints I had with my 08 wing. (though rumor is that 6th gear ratio is the same as 5th on my 08)
  5. I hear a lot of deflation at Mother Yamaha, if I wanted a Vtwin I'd get a HD. This very well be my next ride, can't wait to see it in person.....
  6. Looks like 9PM CST.... I'm hoping we see something nice!!!! Remember to tune into a Facebook Live broadcast today at 7PM PDT. We have something special to show you all. #WhatLiesBeyond https://www.facebook.com/HondaPowersports/?hc_ref=ARThYcix-HCMWvRElLW2m30EFUyYTZL1xZQgcKCpSwVaycsGFiFpdjKmh9LcCwxF-rk&fref=nf
  7. WOW, how he survived that!!!!!!!!
  8. If this speculation is true, it looks promising... https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/news/2017/october/2018_goldwing_power_weight_details_infomation
  9. Yeah sure hope they don't Yamapoop their drawers!!! On the flip side though, if they do, I'm keeping my FJR.....
  10. I too was looking forward to the new Venture, not to replace my FJR but for a better two up touring bike, but now will have to look at the new Goldwing. We test drove the HD RGU with the new M8 and it was very nice, good power and smooth running for a HD, didn't notice a lot of heat although it was only around 80 out.. I've said I'd never get a Harley but if the Goldwing dosn't do it for me I may have to bite the bullet. Or maybe just find a nice used Gen 2 Venture IDK.
  11. That back rest bracket is a bit hideous!!!!! If I were to spend that kind of cash I would probably go with the HD Road Glide... I may just end up with a F6B
  12. Just heard that the new Ventures will be delay until December for some tooling issues, maybe they'll throw a V4 in there after all!!! Could only hope I suppose.
  13. Don't mean to hijack this thread and I will be test riding the new Venture when the dealer nearby sends me an e-mail of it's arrival but how does the Passenger feel on the back of your 2012? There is one nearby me with 6k on the clock going for $9500.00 and if my wife is happy, you know what they say. Right now I have my 15 FJR that I will keep that is fine for 2 to 300 mile days with her on the back but we want to take longer trips and have more storage available. Had an 08 Goldwing that we really liked but needed to make some changes to the suspension and windshield and she still was buffeted around on the back. She said she felt too far away as well. Recently test drove a 16 HD RGU and the wind protection was very good, she felt closer to me which she liked but I didn't like my position on the bike. Test drove a 17 HD EGC had a nice power plant (a lot smoother than the 16), I liked my position much better but my head took a beating and she felt battered around a bit on the back.
  14. Did you have a passenger and how did they like the back seat? Waiting to take one out when they have them hear but in the mean time the SO and took out a Road Glide Ultra and and EGU. Was really impressed with the updated M8 Power train so interested to see how Yamaha compares. The RGU wind protection was very nice for both of us but I didn't like the riding position which put my back a bit more past center (backwards) than I would like. The EGU riding position for me was a lot better but the wind buffeting was bad for both of us. BTW I ride a 15 FJR which I will keep but looking for a longer two up tour mount. Probably shouldn't have gotten ride of my 08 Wing...
