I had a chance to buy a 2001 with salvage title for 900, and a driveable with full title,99 model, for 1500.I was thinking about one for a custom build.I think the engine weighs abut 300 of the 860 pounds.massive wheels and tires, heavy frame.I guess if one took off the fairing, trunk, bags, sound system wiring, skinnied down the seat to solo, some amount of weight could be shaved off.I dont like the dragging lowrider fenders made of fiberglass. But reworked rear fender with frenched license plate, flush mount tailight and signals, forkmounted signals, devalance the front fender a little, custom bars and grips,I dont know, just dreaming a little.

exhaust gasket sound?
cruiserlover replied to cruiserlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
duh,I am not a smart man, but I know what love is.I fixed the noise. It was my speakers echoing the cadence of the engine.I turned the sound off, and the noise stopped.Dang i am dumb,me and forest. -
exhaust gasket sound?
cruiserlover replied to cruiserlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I will check for that.I do not know how to do a video.Maybe I can figure that out. -
I did not ride the bike to his house. The traffic in dallas is very dangerous. The seat felt fine sitting on a perch he had,a stool actually.I put it on the bike this morning, went for a ride.Hurts my tailbone. He said the seat is too far gone. His work was excellent, but it couldnt correct all the lousy stuff that someone else had done to it.You can tell he is very good at what he does.

Mybike has a sound coming from somewhere in the front of the engine now, sounds like when you have shredded a piece of your tire and its flopping on the pavement. But it does it sitting still or riding.I have heard a similar noise on a bike before and it was one of the exhaust inlet gaskets leaking.I have not looked at my manual to see if the motor has those. What is it? The bike runs perfectly, it doesnt get louder as I ride. Dont know if its something t worry about. I FIXED IT!!!! PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD SOMEBODY.I AM THE DUMBEST OWNER ON THIS FORUM!

I live 50 miles from him.I took my seat to him.My seat was so whittled on and heavily modified when he saw it he said i would be better off just buying a complete seat, that there wasnt much of my seat left to work with.I dont have 300 for a used ebay seat.Whoever butchered my seat used some crummpy grey nonsupportive collapsing foam for the bulk of the seat cushion.A stock seat like his is at least 6 inches wider than mine. But, he cut out most of the offending foam, replaced it with quality foam, then memory foam, stretched the upholstery back over it,stapled it, and I sat on it.Amazing difference.I can hardly wait to go for a ride on it.For a crummy seat with nothing to build on he somehow saved it.He said buy some more seats and bring them to him and let him redo them.I will someday.

It works with their rims, the phamtom hub.But I never saw one, but I bet it could be modified to fit any wheel.I saw once on the cruisercustomizing site spoke wheels available. -
Pacific coast star website. Not a new dealer, but they have many beautiful bikes there. The part I was interested in was their magic hub.It makes all the custom wheels adaptable to our shaftdrive bikes.First one of those I have seen.

That is about the most beautiful paint job I have seen.Sure, it was a lot of work, sure it was a pain, but the bike results are what makes it worth a 100,000 dollars in appearance.Beautiful work.I have decided probably on metallic red, not as big a flake as 196-'s metalflake, but flake. The word venture will be like a ghost emblem, painted on, barely discernible on the sides of the tank.Plus xvz1300 on the sidecovers.I am not concerned with saving or reaplying stock pinstriping.I would love to know the paint colors you used Larry. As far as time, in the winter it will be done, too rideable right now. -

I watche a lot of videos yesterday. As said below, you take saran wrap right after you put a coat of paint on.wrap the tank, hand form if where needed. Then later peel it off, probably soon after. Then several coats of clear and wetsanding and it looks like that.So many possibilities.I am old school.I prefer solid paint, a little pinstriping for accent. But so many possibilities. -
Once I get my title problem fixed I am going to get my bike painted.Rick butler gave me a name of a guy.My 01 is the burgundy sort of red and black.I am thinking metallic solid red all over. Then the name venture in gold on the tank, and then in gold on sidecovers say xvz 1300.on top of the tank towards the seat have a small crossed checker flags like on a corvette.I was also thinking of some sort of brake lights mounted on the trunk somehow.
