  1. The protectors would not have helped in my case as the lid landed on the outside curved edge.. I was alone so no help to lift it up. After circling the bike a few times and wondering how I was gonna get this thing up! I came up with plan "A".. 1. deploy kick stand 2. Approach bike, grab on to the handle bar and passenger grab bars and lift.. whew I got her up and on to kickstand. It's Miller time.. Plan B call 911 ...lol...
  2. Kenno, Ouch! that really hurts.. I had a similar experience backing out of my garage (2018 SVTC). Driveway has slight downhill grade, Turned handle bars far right (too turn around and ride straight out) and leaned a little too far, over it went! ... Good news the SVTC stops at 45 degrees, bad news (for me anyway) , I did not latch the right side saddle bag lid , when it went over the lid opened and hit the driveway and scratched the edge of the lid...errr.... No other damage on the bike... I've done this maneuver a thousand times with my 2nd gen and never dropped it!
  3. I bet they shared the same container to CA! What color is yours? I got the Raspberry...
  4. Hi Freebird, I sent you a PM with the link info this morning, however I do not see it in the PM sent folder. Did you receive the PM? Thanks
  5. It is the service manual, 746 pages, contains electrical diagrams, however the diagrams are difficult to read. The hard copy with the pullouts would be needed to follow the electrical circuits.
  6. I have used FTP is the past, I can download a FTP client and give it a go. I have the manual in my Dropbox, also have the Infotainment center manual in PDF format, it's 29 MB
  7. I have the 2018 Service manual for the New Venture TC in PDF format, however it is 189.6 MB in size. Any interest? Can I upload a file that size to the forum????
  8. This is correct, dropped mine backing out of garage onto driveway (slight downhill grade), cut it to tight, over she went. Stopped at 45 degrees. Make sure saddle bag lids are latched. ask me how I know.. errr first scratch...on top of lid from hitting the driveway when it swung open. No other damage.....
  9. Hi Doug, Target sales for the Venture is 2500 units, here is a link to Yamaha Global with some good info. https://global.yamaha-motor.com/news/2017/0607/xv1900fd.html Also attached is the Yamaha VIN Decoding map, hope this helps. My S/N is 685 Yamaha VIN Decoding.pdf
  10. Purchased the bulk material and cut pieces to fit the area of coverage.
  11. I had the same thought, so I ordered Tank slapper, its a clear shield to protect the paint, Intsaled on the tank center area and top forward section of the saddle bags. Here is the link if you want to take a look. http://thetankslapper.biz/
  12. Wow, this scared the heck out me (purchased the new Venture). So I called Yamaha Y.E.S , turns out the infotainment center (Audio) is covered thru Y.E.S. 5 years total. I'm told that the document is generic to all products and # 6 DOES NOT apply to the Venture or the Eluder.. A revision to the terms may be in the works. Thanks for posting the terms here.
  13. Apologies for the long delay in responding to your question.... Yes, co-rider keys PTT the intercom will remain open and active until co-riders key's the PTT again. I'm wondering if this true with the CB turned on, will test. Also I ordered the J&M 8 pin lower cord (currently have the 5 pin cord) will test and post here what I find between the two cords Thanks
  14. You are correct with the PTT , kind of A few of things I've learned. on my SVTC 1. Rider must use PPT to talk with the passenger, release the button and com stops, HOWEVER for the passenger, press the PPT once, intercom is open and stays open until the PPT is pressed again by the passenger to turn off. 2. Turn on VOX, intercom is activated when you speak into the mic for both rider and passenger. 3. Now the problem. If intercom and CB are both turned on, any intercom conversation will be broadcast over the CB... bad very bad.. I called Yamaha and informed them that the intercom should be independent of the CB as it was so with the Gen2. especially in a group ride scenario. I can't have my CEO yelling at me and have everyone with a CB hear it..lol.. 4. JM Elite headsets are compatible, however the Gen2 5 pin lower cable kind of works. Gen3 uses a 8pin lower cable , see the accessories page for this cable I'm still playing around with the infotainment system, so any other bugs I find I will post hear. Hope this helps . As for the Venture in general, this is one awesome machine.
