  1. This is an unfortunate does of reality for all involved. First you don't stop on a buys highway, in a live lane to help animals. It's not safe. Second, eye lead, and don't speed. I wasn't there, so I don't know the layout of the roadway. Maybe it was a blind curve, or hill. Unfortunately 4, if not more, lives were affected by this preventable collision.
  2. Okay, I have started this thread not with the intention of asking how to lower the front (raising the forks) as I have found that information through the search. My intent was to ask for assistance with this project. You see I am not mechanically inclined what so ever, nor do I have the the tools to perform this task. I was wondering if there was anyone near London, ON that could assist me. I have a 30" inseam and find my self at times struggling with footing. I am looking at the seat mod, however after reading the threads I see that lowing the front will aid in handling which is a bonus for me as well. If anyone is willing to aid me, I will make sure you get the beverage of choice and labor cost as they apply. Thanks for reading this.
  3. You were actually sitting on your wedding tackle !
  4. Enjoy your trip. I'm too busy ridding to have the seat done. I will hit you up in the winter. Cheers.
  5. I agree. Best set up for me since I like to try and do my own work, and I am not mechanically inclined.
  6. Thanks for the advise. I am going to look into the modular helmet. I think the fit is good, since she takes a XS. I thought about her own wheels too, but she has never ridden before. I was actually looking at getting her a scooter so she can tag along with me. bongobobny, I live in southern Ontario, about a half hour south of London.
  7. Okay, so before I get grilled I did use the search function but wasn't getting the answer I was looking for, and there very well may not be one. So I'm 5'11" and my wife is 5'10". I have an aftermarket windscreen which is wider and taller than the stock. My wife still seems to get buffeted by the wind. She wears a 3/4 helmet with a full shield. She tells me her head vibrates and it feels like it is being pulled up. She scrunches down behind me and of course that is fine, but not practical. I was thinking if I could shave the passenger seat down a couple inches she may find it better. Any suggestions from some taller passengers?
  8. +1 for the Baggershield. I have had it on for half a season. Works great, and love that you can go from short to tall very quietly without using tools. Be careful when installing it though. It fits a little tighter than stock and I ended up breaking one of those plastic mounting clamp thingies. I have to figure out how to fix it now without replacing the back half of the fairing.
  9. +1 for the Baggershield. Put it on a month ago. Really like the option of have a shorty windshield on those hot days.
  10. I would like to thank Carbon One for his wire harness and mounting bracket for the WoLo Air horn. took me about 20 - 25 mins. to do the whole job. I don't do much of my own work, so this was a big deal to me. I would like to thank XV1100SE for his advise as well. The air horn is one of the best aftermarket add on parts. It scared the crap out of me when I let it rip. Very pleased.
  11. I appreciate that. I'm going to hook up with XV1100SE from the Kitchener area next week and he is going to educate me on a few thing. I live in the London area, so that would be a little out of your way for a norther trip. I really appreciate the offer. We might meet sometime in the futrue.
  12. No it is not. Sits flush on the corner and center and a little high between them.
  13. Thanks for the help. XV1100SE I will hit you up for some help in the future. As it stand the windscreen in very secure, even without the one bolt. As far as the chrome accent piece, I am just very picky about how things look and I am probably too concerned. I will look at that bar too to see if it is broken. I just have 2000 k on the bike, so I would hope nothing is broken yet..
  14. So I got my baggershield on today. I found it fit very snug, and the brake side button head bold was not allowing the shield to push all the way down so one side was higher than the other. I removed the button head bolt and now I found that the nut and plat that the bolt goes into has dropped down and I can't seem to bring it up again without splitting the front fairing (which I am a little hesitant to do since this is the first time I've taken anything off the bike. I was able to put the windscreen on using the remaining five button head bolts and it is level and holds very securely. Any suggestion on how to fix the problem I have with the outside bolt? Secondly, the chrome piece that fits at the base of the shield seem not to be a snug. Is this normal when installing an aftermarket windscreen.
  15. Hey, I am new as well. I will check with the wife. We might come to your abode to meet some of you people. Not sure on the U.S. trip though.
  16. Thanks for the help. I believe Bagger is the way I will go.
  17. Just looking for opinions on windshields. I'm leaning towards the Baggershield because of its adjust-ability. Is there anyone that has any experience with this windshield compared to the Clearveiw or F4. Thanks for any information.
  18. I am new to the this forum and have never had the opportunity to meet you Steve. That being said I am very sorry to hear about your news and I will pray for you and your family.
  19. Wondering is Carbon one still supplies wiring harnesses and mounting brackets for air horns. I just picked up the WOLO Bad Boy.
  20. Thanks. I hope to get it this week. I was looking for LED strips to run vertically on each side of the rear fender. There is a chrome frame mount there and plan on sticking it on them. How hard is it to access the run/brake wires to hook these up? And has anybody done this? If so any tips to make it go smoothly.
  21. Ya Motorcycle_1300, I didn't want to scare little old ladies with my exhaust. That's why I have the air horn I wil try to cut the inner pipe and see how that sounds. Looks to be a pretty simple task. Thanks for the imput.
  22. Okay, I am the proud owner of a 2013 Venture. Of course I have to add things to make it my own. I am wanting to change the exhaust. I am looking for louder, but not annoying loud that prevents people from ridding with me. I have been looking at the following and would like opinions on workmanship and quality and customer service if. That is of course if any members have any experience with these brands: 1. Khrome Werks 3 inch H.P. 2. L.A. Choppers Oval Bag Slash Pipes 3. Rush Slash Down Slip-on I will be adding an air horn and new shoes when time permits. I'm just having a blast ridding it. I came from a Suzuki M109R and the Venture corners soooo much better. Thanks for any help:).
  23. I am wanting to get the 100 LED Genesis II LED Tail Light from Custom Dynamics, but have a question. Do I need a load equalizer for just the break light? Will they fit the 2013 model Royal Star Venture S. I only ask the later as Amazon has them on sale but say they are for 1999 to 2009 models. Thanks.
