  1. Expending all that energy figuring out that the gate that kept me from playing with the Minute Man Nuclear Missile was locked and wouldnt magically open for another hour I heard my tummy growl and KNEW it was time for = ROAD GRUB!!!
  2. While sitting on the side of the road filling our water cup from our trusty water bucket that hangs on Tweeks side a friendly chap stopped to see if we were ok.. After telling him we were fine and thanking him for checking on us, asked if we were headed to that abandoned Missile site while pointing yonder.. I looked at Tip and then back at the gentlemen and said "we were not but we are now" and away we went - off on yet another adventure!!

    Anemic??

why thank ya Kretzy and being one of those scallywags should help explain why I have such a hard time listening when folks tell me I aint suppose to coast with my motor off - I just go ahead and do anyway ,,,,, ya know what,, maybe that particular flaw in my charachter is where the really bad egg part adjoins itself to the scallywaggin Speakn of coastin,, at this time Kings Canyon holds the record for us = 29 miles in 36 minutes!!! I been coaster all my life but that one was WOWZY = AMAZING!! Another really good one is on the Cherokee end of the Blue Ridge Parkway = start up at the visitor center up on the mountain before you get to Cherokee - ya gotta run a stop sign (scallywag) but I tell ya - if traffics light and ya get nailed - you can coast a longgggggg ways there... Jerome Az is another.... Hey ya lop eared pot stirring varmint - ya got me goin on purpose didnt cha!! and PS,,, yes,, I got whopped = A LOT - when I was but a young scallywag
  4. Gotta spoon another tire before,, Lord willing and the creek over at Orlins that stands betweens us and Minnesota dont rise, hitting the trail to Sturgis.. I REALLY like these Shinko 230's that @videoarizona turned us all onto = great tires and I just wore out my second one.. Started the season back in June with a new Kenda pre-Americade and now having thoughts of testing out one of the Shinko 777's as also mentioned by Vaz just for giggles.. Just jumped on Ebay,, as with the 230's I purchased on there = no load rating stated.. The 230's are 77 rated and speed rated to to 149 (V). I noticed the 777's have the lower speed rating of 130 mph (H) as most of the tires for our 1st Gens are.. Not a problem at all except I am wondering if they have lower load rating too? Anyone spooned on the 777 yet,, David? Thanks ya bunch a lop eared varmints - in advance.. Puc Here's what I am seeing http://www.ebay.com/itm/140-90-16-4-Ply-Shinko-777-Rear-Tire-/371607213645?epid=214767670&hash=item568584164d:g:p0MAAOSwYIxX2dNd&vxp=mtr
  5. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, you done got blessed brother = THAT coulda been really nasty!!! Thank the Lord you folks and others on the roadway are ok!! AMAZING how little damage your rig suffered too brother!! If you happen to discover that you need to scrub the seat of your Miata, I happen to know from similar experiences that Fabreez works pretty dog gone good as a scrub assistant Rand!
  6. BEAUTIFUL RICK = MAJOR CONGRATS!!! Looking at it reminds me of a question I had for any of you trailer haulers out there.. I am NO bike pulling a trailer guy, as a matter of fact - I just recently had the opportunity to pull the 2nd trailer behind a motorcycle I have ever pulled. A friend was having issues with his scoot and he asked me to take it for a short ride with trailer in tow and give my thoughts on his issues.. I did so.. After discussing the issues he was asking about, I asked him one pertaining to trailer towing with a scoot.. His was loaded with probably 100 pounds of gear - was a utility type of trailer similar to yours. Just to see what would happen I slammed on the brakes hard in a corner to see if I could feel trailer push upon doing so - WOWZY = did I!! Upon a quick check when I got back I noticed no trailer brakes... He said its normal to run with no brakes on the trailer.. Is this so?

    Anemic??

Tweeks,, our anemic 1st Gen, may very well be such BUT - she can break every speed law in the country while fully loaded and carrying 2 people on her back AND,, do it all day long in 3RD GEAR (leaving the ol girl with 2 to spare).. Matter of fact,, that anemic old scoot almost earned a big one out in California for doing 68 mph (thats 109 kp's for you Kanucks) in a 50 mph zone and she was coasting down hill with her motor off... Her ears like to fold back just before she takes off to gobble up those big twins out there with her tiny 74 inch motor,, makes me wonder how she is gonna act around her first run in with one of these new 119 inch tourers Last night I thought I heard her and Maggie the tiny 60 inch motored R1 out in the garage plottin something - could be some interesting days coming while out CTFW!!:stirthepot:
  8. A few folks out in the great land of CTFW know Tip and I by our biker names of Tip and Puc.. Even those who we have been blessed to have met along the trail have never met our off-spring who also have earned biker names by CTFW on the rear seat of a beat up ol Yamaha Venture.. This particular vid is dedicated to our son = "P-Dog" who fell in love with these little prairie dwellers many years ago.. Hey P-Dog,, take a break from your day job and get a gaggle of these guys - they be speakin your language sonshine!!
  9. People like my buddy YammerDan would love this camp spot,, its got everything a soul needs to remind each of us of how blessed we are to live in such a grand country as America. The nights are so peaceful out here where the Badlands and the National Grass Lands greet each other that even the Morning Dove sings its song non-stop at the fresh start of each day.. A person rarely even needs tent poles to support his tent while hidden behind these rolling hills = something in my gut always tells me that those early wagon train travelers used to stop right here in this spot in the evening and roll back there wagon covers to lay inside and gaze as the stars thru sleepy eyes after a long day of travel along the upper edge of the Badlands Wall that the nearest town is named after..
  10. Speaking of lop eared South Dakota varmints,, our typical late night ride back to one of our favorite camping spots along that amazing prairie trail revealed yet another local set of loppy ears..
  11. Our Wall Drug South Dakota fortune was so grand that we could not help but share it with other lop eared varmints who had made the decision to get out and ride!!
  12. and our luck was consistent and obvious because right around the corner and looking up,, this appeared just for us!!
  13. To bad I wasnt a gamblin man cause the "7's" were just rolling in for us on that gorgeous evening in Wall Drug too!!
  14. Thanks for that info Rick!! If I get out to the Rally I think I will drag my Lazer Thermometer to do some experimenting out there. Initial shock is wearing off some so I will also be looking for a test ride or two too - I am really curious to see how they ride compared to the Polaris Vision.. Could be a good place to have some fun with the new Yams cause historically the metrics dont really draw much attention at the big Rally.. This could be revealing.... Good time to attend Sturgis..
  15. Hearing that Venny!! I know a spot on the back of the Badlands NP that you can park your scoot, pop a pup like that, lay down and within 20 minutes hear nothing but coyotes yipping and warm prairie breezes whispering their song in your ears.. Then,, if you lay flat inside of it on your belly you can actually feel the earth breathing under you... Yep,, I love my tent camping,,, looks old school dorky but who cares...
  16. I know I am late to the show here but cant let this go without sharing my opinion on something.. IMHO, Carl aint far off here.. It may be just cause of my ride style but,, having had my share of flats I can honestly say that the real challange of bringing a scoot to a safe stop when experiencing a flat tire front or back actually doesnt even start until well under 25 mph and it gets steadily more difficult as you slow down and those last 5 miles per hour can be real killers. That being said,, and once again IMHO, even riding a scoot with a tire like that on it at slow speeds is extremely dangerous.. On a side note,, company's like Chapparal or Dennis Kirk have excellent shipping records.. I too have had excellent results with Shinko 230's and,, get this,, when I was out in California I jumped on Ebay, ordered a 76 dollar Shinko 230 from Chapparal, had it shipped to my Daughters house and it showed up the next day - Chapparal is in Cali too BUT - the one I spooned on just before we left for Cali a few days before was also a Chapparal Shinko and it only took 2 days to get here...
  17. and South Dakota is also a land filled with Enchantment if one but takes a moment to look up!!! Some,, wheree,, over the rainbow,,, wayyyy,, up high,,,
  18. South Dakota is a place where dreams and wonderment are formed.. Speaking of forming wonderment - ever heard of Termus's 6 point perspective? VERY VERY INTERESTING STUFF!! Might not be a bad idea watch this one all the way thru and then do some Googling on that one ya bunch of lop eared touring varmints!!
  19. Tip said to tell you that you should have been sitting next to ol Pucster out in New York when they yanked the covers back on the new Ventures at Americade
  20. Can never ever be to careful of what you drink once you hit the open road!!
  21. and this time Tweeks makes friends with someone she will probably never get to meet!!
  22. Headed for Alaska from Jersey on a Beemer!! Yet another new friend!! One really really nice thing about riding a bike like Tweeks is she ALWAYS starts conversations with some really interesting people of the road!!
  23. We felt sooo sorry for this young man.. He broke his arm trying to help another person set up a tent at Blue Earth Minnesota's free campground just before we pulled in the night before this vid was shot.. Apparently he tripped over a fire ring while opening the tent to insert the fish poles... I think they should have just used YammerDans technique and tossed the tent over a tree limb or something and been happy with it...
  24. Its not just amazing scenery and awesome people ya get to encounter while out CTFW,, sometimes even inadament objects also catch ones eye!!!
  25. Oh yea,, these Shinks worked AWESOME David!! Another really interesting aspect to those tires I noticed is that they didnt lose their integrity and wear quickly once they got to that ol half way point.. Even the more expensive tires I have ran have done that = not sure why.. These puppys seemed to have a real consistent wear factor to them and, no idea if you have ever noticed,, they also didnt "sing" like other tires as they squared off... Not the highest wear factor but no were near the cost,, EXCELLENT in the twisties hot or cold - wet or dry and handled the high loads and high speeds just fine.. Didnt mean to mislead you on the E6000.. Only thing I fixed on Tweeks for this trip was the saddlebag, side cover and fuel tank door.. That diaphram thought was for future experimentation BUT I have extremely high expectations for the stuff to be used in that order.. If you do get to it before I do and actually run a set of repair diaphrams with E6000 on em PLEASE let me know what cha find brother!! I still have a couple in Tweeks with YamaBond repaired diaphrams and will try the E6 soon if ya dont get "A ROUND TUIT".. Thanks for liking my goofy vids!!!!! This includes you too ya lop eared Kalifornia varmint @Condor!! Gonna toss up a couple more now that I know someone actually watches this corny stuff :big-grin-emoticon:
