greyghost Posted September 7, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2008 Ok everyone I am confused about tires. The Avon Fitment guide says Venoms Front 150/80-16 71H Rear 150/90B-M/C 80H Southwest Moto list a AM41 150/80 HB-16 for the front and a AM42 150/90 HB-15 for the rear All sites I have looked at do not mention the load rating of the tires they carry. With some saying that they do not get the milage that some get I wonder if they are not getting the 80H for the rear which I am pretty sure is the load rating for the tire. Also what does the B stand for in the tire size??? So what tires are you guys ordering???

Also what does the B stand for in the tire size??? So what tires are you guys ordering??? Check this thread for tire code info. The "B" indicates bias (vs radial). The "H" is a speed rating. H=130 mph The 71 and 80 are the load ratings: 71 = 761 lbs 80 = 992 lbs My last order from SW Moto: 305303 Avon Venom 150/80HB-16 Front 305321 Avon Venom 150/90HB-15 Rear I'm getting around 14k on the rear. I can get more on the front, but so far I've changed both at the same time.

hig4s Posted September 11, 2008 Share #7 Posted September 11, 2008 I put the Avon Venom MT90B16 WW 74H on my front WW=wide whitewall It is a little narrower than stock, but still in the proper size for the stock rim, and makes the bike handle better at slow speeds, plus has a higher load rating than the stock size. the Venom 150/90B15 80H rear (stock size) comes in both blackwall and wide whitewall.
