yesterday afternoon, i hooked up my "carbtune II, to a kz1100 spectre.

bike started right up, idled just right, NO VACUUM.

cranked it up to 3000 r.p.m.s and got just a very slight hint of movement on the carbtune, then NOTHING!

question is, WHERE is engine vacuum, created?

we couldn't find any loose hoses, and no audible sound of a leak.

any one who can offer any help, please speak up.

just jt:confused24::confused24:

Put a vaccume gauge on it 1st JT, every bike I have ever done has the vaccume ports on the intake manifolds or very close to where the carbs are hooked into the heads. Also try to remove the restrictor tubes from inside the Carbtune and see how that goes.

Generally, Vacuum is build up in the complete Carb Throat between Airbox and the Intake Valve. On Idle there's a Lot of Vaccuum due to the closed Butterfly Valves. The Vacuum metering Ports are somewhere underneath the Butterfly Valves and the Cylinder Head.

if butterfly is open engine revs up. Look between the black rubber boot and the area where the butterfly pivot is. You either find a port with a cap on it or a bolt/screw head that you need to remove and screw an adapter into.
