Guest Motobego Posted July 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2008 Do you think it would be worth going from a Goldwing to a Venture? I like liquid cooled, do not like carburators, and prefer wider tires on a touring bike. Have you guys had any recurring problems with the Venture? Your suggestion and opinion are appreciated
BuddyRich Posted July 27, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 27, 2008 :rotf: You asking the choir if this is the right church.. Don't know but If you are 6ft or taller they say the RSV is a better fit. GW has a lot more toys built in for sure.
Gold Rush Posted July 27, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 27, 2008 Since I own and ride one of each I'd say YES/NO/MAYBE....:whistling: Give us more information on you, your riding style, where you are, and anything else that might help and we'll be glad to give you our advise:sick:.... Seriously, Both machines are GREAT rides. They are totally different rides though. Shoot me an e-mail if you don't want to air your concerns here. I'll do what I can to answer you. V7Goose Posted July 27, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 27, 2008 Well, I think so. But then again, I don't like riding a cramped Frigidaire. But your mileage may vary. Just my personal opinion, but I think the RSV looks better, handles better, is much more comfortable, has a much better warranty and is certainly less expensive! As far as recurring problems, just like on a Wing forum, you will find lots of people discussing their issues. And a few have gotten a lemon and are very disappointed. Most of us are thrilled with the bike. The rear shock is a weak design. It works great, but will almost certainly go out at least once before 50,000 miles, but covered under warranty. A very few have a loud obnoxious chirp/whine in the engine. Make sure you test ride the one you are interested in first to ensure you don't hear anything you don't like. That's about it for significant issues. Lots more here to learn about the bike if you get that far. Good luck with whatever you decide, Goose
