Apostle Wilson Posted February 1, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2023 Hey guys, I just purchased a new to me 83 venture 1200. The rear brake pedal is extremely hard to push and I have to pull back up. The reservoir was dry, I added some DOT 4 and sprayed some penetrating oil on the pedal up to the master cylinder. am I missing a place to make an adjustment? saddlebum Posted February 5, 2023 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2023 Those rear master cylinders build up with crud if fluid is very old and contaminated with moisture so yes rebuild is likely but don't be surprised if they are corroded inside meaning full replacement. So before you invest in a kit pull it apart clean it and thoroughly inspect every piece. Including the proportioning valve. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
