Typhoonvash Posted June 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2017 I get 13.2v at idle and 13.8 at 2000rpms. Is this good. I checked my draw when all accessories are on and it never drops below 13.1v but my dash gauge shows 12v.

mm482 Posted June 29, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2017 That voltage should keep the battery charged. I would hook a volt meter straight to the battery and see what the readings are. I like to see 13.4 to 14.2 volts. Earl
Typhoonvash Posted June 30, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted June 30, 2017 My snap on dm shows 13.4 at idle and 13.8 at 2000rpms. Still does not drop below 13.1 with all accessories on at idle. I think im good.
bongobobny Posted June 30, 2017 Share #5 Posted June 30, 2017 One would think so! Wouldn't be the first time one of those old analog meters went south. There is a way to calibrate those old movements but unfortunately, you have to know what you are doing AND have a delicate touch! Waaaaay back in the early 70's I used to calibrate analog meters, there are three sliding weights that have to be adjusted so that the meter reads the same vertical, on each side, and upside down, and it is soooo easy to accidentally nick the winding and turn the entire movement into junk!
