86er Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Hey Popeye, if you're interested in, as Squeeze so eloquently put it: A 20 years old Japanese Bike, or maybe 30, I have a couple for sale. They belonged to my friend that just passed away. I told his wife that I'd take on selling them. 1. '86 Honda XL250R, 2287 miles $1000 2. '72 (I think) Yamaha XS750D, 39518 miles $1200 The 250 is a dual sport so it is street legal. The 750 was, I believe, the first with dual front discs and the first driveshaft for MamiYami. It also comes with a spare engine, instrument cluster(s) and "stuff"! I haven't listed these anywhere yet, but will soon. If you're interested, PM me. Both are in exceptional shape.
captnmidnight Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Popeye,I thought you said you wanted a dual sport bike. That is a sport bike and it's a 200 not a 250. I wouldn't buy it if you are looking for a dual. good luck.

Those are some nice looking scoots if I didn't have my heart set on an 08 klr650 I would buy that honda.
Guest Popeye Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hey Popeye, ........... 1. '86 Honda XL250R, 2287 miles $1000 2. That 750 is a beauty + a classic, but I don't want pretty or classic for parking lot. I don't want a dual purpose, just a dependable ride to work. I recently sold my 81 Midnight Maxim 750 38k miles & flawless black & gold [no other colors on bike] for $1500. I loved it but wife is 5'11" & thin...didn't fit. I bought it 2 years prior for $900. Now I'd like a little 400cc+ that's reliable for $800. or $900. & a little newer........I'm patient.
86er Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Those are some nice looking scoots if I didn't have my heart set on an 08 klr650 I would buy that honda. Trust me, Redneck, they are both so nice that if I could afford it, I'd buy them both! But I've already had a call about each, so it looks like I won't even need to list them anywhere.
AZSpyder Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 That is a dual sport! Ride a little, push a little.
