Hello Everyone,

I have not been on the site lately, waking up to the - 40 degrees (including wind chill) this morning makes it a little tough to think about going out for a ride. I will say though when I grabbed the mail today and opened the envelope from the Iron Butt Association it took the chill right out of this cold December day in Alberta. I received certificates, pins and license plate backer for the ride I did in September.

Late August, with only a month or so left of the riding season I was wondering how I could add to what has been a great season. My friends and family were starting to tire of my talk about the ride I took to San Diego earlier in the month and I was wanting another reason to get out on the hiway. Freebird mentioned he was going to do a Iron Butt ride, 1000 miles in under 24 hours on his new Harley. This peaked my curiosity, after some research I decided I would do the same.

September 7th I left Edmonton at 4 AM in the morning headed for Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I turned around there and came back to Alberta via Regina, Medicine Hat and landed in Brooks at about 9 P.M. the trip totalled 1630 KM (1013miles) and qualified me for the Saddle Sore Certificate. 5 AM the next morning I rode through Calgary, on to Banff, up to Jasper then back to Edmonton by 3;30 PM, total trip 2598 KM ( 1614 miles) earning me the Bun Burner 2500 K in under 36 hour certificate. What a great time I had that weekend!!!

December...... if the weather cooperates I will be back in the saddle in another 4 months, this leaves me time to plan next season and tinker on the bike. If I am not back on prior to the holidays I wish you all a Joyous Happy and Safe Holiday Season!
