Flyinfool Posted June 2, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 2, 2013 Does the voltmeter in the dash work? Voltmeter is on the same fuse. Sounds more like it could be a ground issue.

wecruz Posted June 2, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted June 2, 2013 any guesses where this ground issue might occur?
dingy Posted June 2, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 2, 2013 any guesses where this ground issue might occur? Not really. Ground gremlins are very sneaky. Gary
dacheedah Posted June 2, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 2, 2013 put in a test ground, spike the wire at each connector, if it works at the device move back until it doesn't and you have isolated that. I would check fuse and the serviceability of the fuse holder first.

wecruz Posted June 2, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) used a test light and found there is ground in the large plug on the back of the cms Edited June 2, 2013 by wecruz
Squidley Posted June 2, 2013 Share #9 Posted June 2, 2013 Try unplugging the wire harness from the back of the dash and look at the connectors. Look for obvious corrosion and broken wires/spades. Let us know how it looks, electrical gremlins suck!

Rocket Posted June 8, 2013 Share #11 Posted June 8, 2013 plugs and terminals all looked like brand new as well as the boards.... Check for cracks on the solder joints, on the backside of the CMS plug terminal. These were known for cold solder joints, just like the CLASS Controller, in the right fairing. Check the tech library, for instructions, to fix these issues.
