Guest RGOYEA Posted January 13, 2008 #1 Posted January 13, 2008 Can anyone tell me an easy or is there something tricky about changing handlebar grips on an 06 Venture. I would like to put on after market but can't get the originals off. Any ideas would be appreciated - Thanks Ray
utadventure Posted January 13, 2008 #2 Posted January 13, 2008 I had the same question when I was changing mine. My neighbor told me to take a utility knife and just split the old grip and open it up and it would come right off. He was right!! Dave
Guest RGOYEA Posted January 13, 2008 #3 Posted January 13, 2008 Thanks everbody for the info - It was the weights that I had a problem with but will try the idea with the strap wrench Information much appreciated Ray Windsor - Ontario
mm482 Posted January 13, 2008 #4 Posted January 13, 2008 Look carefully at the end of the bar weight. You will see a small plug, pop it out with a sharp knift blade. There is a allen screw in the end of the weight holding it on. Earl 86 VR 00 RSV
Squeeze Posted January 13, 2008 #5 Posted January 13, 2008 After you dismounted the Weight, start your Compressor and plug on the Airgun. Use a Screwdriver to lift a small Part of the Grip and blow the Air between The Grip and the Handlebar. You will have the Grip undone with three or four Turns on the Grip.
