GaryZ Posted September 20, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2010 The Dunlop web page shows an Elite 3 front tire is now available for a MK1; Elite 3 MR90-18H part# 4079-84 Can anyone verify this is correct before I order one from MotorCycle SuperStore? Ndiaz Posted September 20, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 20, 2010 I've had a front Elite 3 on my 88 VR for six months and 8,000 miles. It works great, and shows very little wear. That's the correct size. I got mine from Motorcycle Superstore also. I run a Michelin Commander on the rear, and they work very well together. GaryZ Posted September 21, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted September 21, 2010 I've had a front Elite 3 on my 88 VR for six months and 8,000 miles. It works great, and shows very little wear. That's the correct size. I got mine from Motorcycle Superstore also. I run a Michelin Commander on the rear, and they work very well together. Nick Diaz Miiddletown, MD Thanks for the note. I have around 2000 miles on an Elite 3 rear tire and I have no complaints. My worn out front tire is an Elite 2. I have a bad handlebar shake around 50 mph if I loosen my grip on the bars. I figure it's the worn out tire.
elmicko Posted September 21, 2010 Share #7 Posted September 21, 2010 I've got one on the front to match the one on the back. Very good tires.
GaryZ Posted September 23, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted September 23, 2010 The new tire arrived yesterday and I mounted it before dark and took a test ride; 1. Steering seems lighter 2. Turn-in is much better 3. The front no longer "jumps" as I cross parallel road seams 4. No more "head shake" around 50 mph I will report again after a couple hundred miles of break-in.
