Pretty good mileage!

My wholesome honey and I just got off the Blue Ridge Pkwy to get some gas. I checked my mileage after running about 135 miles and it was 49 mpg.

... 49 MPG. Amazing for my 86 VR and my weight of ca 260 (that's close enough; LOL). Great days to ride here now, thanks to the heavens of blue skies!

Roadstar got over 50 on at least 3 tanks this weekend. 51.5 was the best. All this two-up full bags and on the interstate. Worst mileage was 42. Had to poke a little at my venture riding bretheren.

Well, let me be the first venturer to state, that a guy from "Gassaway" obviously has a "natural" advantage. Pity those tailgaters!!

Yeah, we probably averaged about 40 too. We were 2-up and had about 50 lbs of gear. We're getting about 42 on the interstate.

Thats great If memory serves me right speed limit on BRP is 45 mph

The Venture will usually get great mpg's when the speed is kept below 60 mph along with

a smooth, steady throttle.

Two up we've been getting about 39 and I thought that was good. Maybe I'm in ther throttle too much or maybe you have your carbs tuned better. I've heard of using a O2 sensor in the exaust to dial in the carb jetting. Maybe that would help. You said you were on the parkway which means in the higher elevations so that makes the milage even more impressive! How exactly did you figure the milage anyway?

I gassed up just outside Breaks State Park on the KY/VA border Saturday afternoon and got 48.9mpg on my 83. Some of that was running a lot in 3rd and 4th gear thru some of the mountain roads.
