flb_78 Posted March 6, 2010 Share #28 Posted March 6, 2010 Ive got about 12,000 miles on my current set of standard NGK's. Gas mileage is still the same as when they were new. Last time my plugs were changed, it was rather easy. I went to Jerry W's spring maintenance day and let him do it!!! The best tools for removing the spark plugs seem to be the in the factory tool kit.
BOO Posted March 6, 2010 Share #29 Posted March 6, 2010 I try to change the plugs when the tank is low on fuel but if it's not I just go ahead and remove it, draining the tank takes longer than changing the plugs. It's kind of like fretting over splitting the faring, some people spend more time studying how to do it then just getting to it. Heck I've had to split the faring three times in one afternoon...... kept having parts left over, go figure... BOO
