Bummer Posted January 24, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 24, 2010 That's certainly a deluxe external fixture you have there, Annie. Mine was just four pins into the bone and two carbon fiber rods with clamps. Gotta say one thing for those tinker toy setups: they certainly keep the leg a lot more rigid than the old cast method could. Best of luck with your recovery. I hope everything knits back together quickly and well.
b2dad Posted January 24, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 24, 2010 I hate to say it, but it looks so very painful. Hope it is not. Hope this speeds your recovery. How long do you have to keep it on? Best wishes for a speedy recovery Annie. Don
Bummer Posted January 25, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 25, 2010 Mine looked bad, but didn't actually hurt. The tissue around the pins into the bone felt a little odd, something of a pulling sensation, but there was no pain. I learned that if I wanted to move the leg I could just grab the fixture and move it. The leg was sure to follow.
