Auxiliary Fuse Box

Does anyone have a good suggestion (pictures?) on where to mount an auxiliary fuse box? I'm going to clean up my wiring. I have heated grips, driving lights and a Deltran battery charger. I'm thinking of mounting this one on top of my existing stock fuse box. It is almost the same size and thin. I'll only use four of the eight fuse positions though (one for light switch).

The lights are 8-10 amps, the hotgrips are about 5-6 and the charger doesn't count. It is all working now. I just want to clean up the wiring and make it all look pretty.

I think that box is too thick to fit on top of the stock box. I have one similar size replacing the stock box and it pushes the false tank up a bit.

 

Nice looking box. How about putting it above the air box?

It sounds to me like you are planning to keep the stock fuse block in place. I would suggest replacing it also and having one big enough to accomadate what you want.

Stock fuse box is a piece of CR4P and needs to be replaced ASAP.

Here's what I ended up with. I made a bracket out a piece of aluminum and attached the new fuse box and a relay to it. It sits on velcro on top of the air intake and is also attached via the screw that holds the OEM fuse box. I rewired everything nice. Driving lights, heated grips and charger leads are on the new fuse box. I have two relays, one for the aux fuse box and another for the driving light switch. The driving light switch relay is in the fairing under the stereo. Not quite as neat as I had hoped, but everything works well. The Easter Beaver PC-8 fuse box is a nice piece. I lie that it does not require end fittings on the wires and that it has both switched and unswitched fuses. (I put the battery charger lead on an unswitched fuse.)

I used the exact same setup on my 1989, and it works perfect. Good fit, much cleaner appearance, and much easier to check or change fuses. Also makes room for a second box if needed for additional addons.
