Magnawake Posted August 3, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 3, 2009 Wow... what a ride. Sounds like almost an Ironbutt record was in the making. I'm about 1 hour from N.augusta. Nice roads down here, but I dont really like the interstate. Too much traffic.
Holly Posted August 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted August 3, 2009 After this weekend, I will be looking into the requirements for an Iron Butt certificate. Will be heading to Hope Mills NC at some point while down here, I see that Lexington is on the route, how about meeting up at some time. bendtdj Posted August 20, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 20, 2009 Daryl, How was the ride back to Larchwood? We are slowly getting used to riding longer distances. Maybe soon take a trip. Dave
Holly Posted August 21, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted August 21, 2009 Was longer, we ended up in Hope Mills NC with Sheila's sister. Then took a detour to the Blue Ridge Parkway, rode 100 miles on it 8/9/09, from north border of NC to Asheville NC. Great ride. Then blasted our way back Monday and Tuesday. Let us know when, would rather ride than eat, I know doesn't fit the club here!!! Daryl

Wanderer Posted August 22, 2009 Share #12 Posted August 22, 2009 have got them am looking at a trip to satisfy the requirements and my wife, could be fun. thanks Daryl It's a ball. Did the Butt Burner 2 years ago with my step-daughter on the pillion of my Boulevard C50T. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/teyster2/SSsweet_n_me.jpg Weather and a couple of missed turns made our trip about 22 hours. Just remember there is some sleep deprivation involved and hydration on a ride like that is key.
