spyderhead Posted July 31, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 31, 2009 Does anyone know of anybody making/selling high quality leather "bras" for the lower plastic pieces on either side of the radiator? Forget what they're called - the bug, scratch, and chip catchers?
bamico Posted August 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 1, 2009 spyder, Yamaha's official term for them is lower cowlings. I've never seen covers for them, although have found that cleaning them and then spraying/wiping them down with Plexus really helps with the bug issue. They certainly are prone to scratches. I'd be curious to hear if you find anything. They're pretty flexible and at least in my experience crack pretty easily if overtightened... that was a costly/frustrating lesson. I'm wondering if they're strong enough to hold a leather cover? Hope it works out for you. Ride Safe Bob
Wanderer Posted August 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 1, 2009 I've seen the covers several times, but not aware who has or makes them.

spyderhead Posted August 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted August 3, 2009 Thanks for the link. Will have to check it out; says the cowling bras are "under development" but that was some time back. Will post when I find out if they are available yet.
