intercom/radio volume question

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! Just bought a couple IMC hsg35u's per recommendation in this forum. Very impressed with how well they work and how good they sound, especially for the $. I'm trying to figure is there any way to stop the radio from muting/turn down when we talk. We're both musicians and are constantly singing. Surely there must be an attenuation pot somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's the intercom knob that controls intercom volume (right knob, inner).

It's not designed to do what you want, it's designed to mute the radio when the intercom is in use. The volume is supposed to be set high enough that a voice in the mic mutes the music but not so high that ambient noise interrupts the audio. You can turn the volume way down, but then it'll be difficult to hear the intercom over the music.

A permanent fix:

Buy a 2nd Gen. They don't have a VOX feature at all. Music never mutes when you talk.

Wish I had a vox-enabled system, and NO I don't want to step down to a 1st Gen to get it!

In either direction, Joe, that would be a "step over", not a "step down"!
