hipshot Posted March 8, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 8, 2009 i have taken my seat cover off the '86, and did some major "whittling". now the recover question::what do you use to reattach the seat cover to the plastic pan? i seriously doubt that i could find 1/8 inch staples , this side of Japan, so i am open for suggestions. just jt
pegscraper Posted March 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2009 Eighth inch staples? I used whatever staples were in my Arrow staple gun. Probably 1/2" wide by 3/8" deep.

hipshot Posted March 8, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted March 8, 2009 Lynn, how do you keep the staples from penetrating through the pan? looks like the ends of the staples could cause leg injury, if they protrude . just jt
pegscraper Posted March 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 8, 2009 They probably do a little bit. I didn't even think about it. But the foam is thick enough I don't see the staples poking through it to the outside. Just find the shortest staples you can.

mtman Posted March 9, 2009 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2009 If ya can, use stainless steel staples. Got mine at Home Depot. Regular ones will rust. Used them on my boat seat covers.
