FROG MAN Posted July 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2007 Right rear saddlebag on the 99 is broke. You can unlock it and push down on button but no tension on latch. It's not working the release. I can't unbolt it until after it's open. So how can I get it to release? I have a shop hammer close by but not that desperate yet.
royalstarjac Posted July 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2007 Are you sure it is latched all the way? Try pushing down on it and see if you can engage the latch fully. If it's not fully egaged it won't release. I had a tire gauge in the small compartment in the top and it kept the lid from closing all the way. I couldn't pull it open and the latch wouldn't work. I pushed down and the latch closed all the way. Then the button would operate the latch. Just a thought.-Jack
