09 rally suggestions

think we are getting there on the 09 rally. we are going to have vendors, probably some biker type games, lots of planned and random rides. good food, a final dinner, comeraderie, raffles, and what the heck else am i forgetting? i need help from the members. give me some ideas on things that we can do to make this the best meet ever. i am open to all suggestions. it's your meet and we (the meet committee), want every one to have a great time, and go home with lots of good memories. don't hold back we will take all ideas into consideration. if any of our members have something bike related they would like to have in the vendor area. contact danob11. he is the vendor guy and would be glad to work with you. if any one in the area, or that knows the area wants to put together and lead a ride contact me or colesgrandpa. he is my ride coordinator. i am personally going lead a ride to eureka springs for an on the town shopping spree for the gals, my wife is a pro shopper. lol. we still need some one to volunteer to put together a video on a dvd of the pic's and videos of the meet that the members have taken. so the members can enjoy the good memories. if it seems like i am shoving this meet down your throat, it's not meant to be that way. black owl told me don't let the members forget, and i really believe in what he said. so give me some ideas on what you folks think might make tis the ultimate meet. this ones for you. snarley bill :welcome1::clap2::clap2: :2133:

Bill,

One thing you might take into consideration for the shopping trip to Eureka Springs is parking. Last time I was in Eureka Springs, parking was kind of hard to come by in the downtown area. You have probably already taken that into account, just thought I would mention it.

A good map for directions to the beer fridge!

Sorry.....not much help...eh.

Gots a question though. We are planning on bringing our kids again. They enjoyed last year in Kitchener. Is there anything nearby that they can hang out and play. While the kids( 11 and 16) only went once to the waterslide park in Kitchener, it was a nice break for them.

If you are staying in Eureka Springs, there isn't much for kids except the swimming pool at the motel. But, as Cindy posted there is a LOT for kids in Branson, from go carts to a big water park right on the strip (76). Then there's always Silver Dollar City which has some amusment rides. There is also an amusement park at the west end of the strip just before you head up the hill towards Silver Dollar City. No trip to Branson would be complete without a ride on the "Ducks", the amphibious vehicles, which drive to and into Tablerock lake. In downtown Branson is the train, which is a nice hour long ride. (approx 30 minutes each way).

The ride from Eureka Springs to Branson is very nice and a "should do" bike ride. I have spent a lot of time in both places and although Branson has more to do I like the relaxing atmosphere of Eureka Springs. Depending on when the rally is I would like to try and make it. But I'll be in a cage since I have given up bikes for now.

how about having a maintenance day area one day for about 4 hours early in the morning when it's cool, and have hot coffee and donuts for the early risers. like about 6am to 11am. any one want to volunteer to do some wrenching to help people out that aren't to good at it. people could trade tech info and work together on their bikes. we could have a donation cup to pay for the donuts and coffee. this would be a great time for the guys to do their thing. give me some good feed back and i will write it in stone, and pick a day. bill :2133:

Have to agree with Rich. I have been there 4 times, loved it every time. Still haven's seen everything in Branson. Just plan on having a good time and expect the desire to come back in the future.

I missed the dates on this one. Can you give them to me again.

Thanks,

Ken:banana:

I know you have heard it before, but you definitely dont need to be on a bike to be there. The rally dates are August 3rd thru the 6th

Bill,

If this works out I'd be willing to help with maintenance, I know others will chime in with volunteering
