  1. update i pulled the yics and submerged the chambers under water and had bubbles coming up from the seam on all 4 chambers then i pulled 2 hoses and lots of holes and cracks in them now to get my big hansds in to the left side and get that hose off to check and replace this while the carbs are intact prognosis is not looking good to keep the carbs attached to the boots but i will try
  2. pulled the yics chamber out and stuck it under water and started watching all the neat little correction big bubbles coming from the seam well found my problem not going to repair by plastic welding it that would be a waste of time just going to do the jason mod got some hose i think will work now to get to the inside ports hans are just not small enough
  3. tech section has the manule or link to print it in pdf welcome to the family and you will love the ride just take your time and fix her right others will chime in on any questions you have and where to go for parts and how to on repairs you will find its the best 12 dollar investment you have ever made
  4. im looking for the quickest easiest fix on this if i tie them together i will have to go back in if the hose cracks im also short a carb sync tool and how to adjust the air mix i realy dont want to pop the carbs from the boots so i will tempt to plug them without disturbing the carbs if at all possible but on the brite side of things i did diconect the yics and pull it out now to plug the ports

  6. not to many shops have mechanics that truly know about these bikes bart so ask questions when before you take it or you can do it yourself people on here know thier stuff when it comes to these bikes and are usulally a phone call away in some cases its a good reason for a ride to come meet you and help you fix it
  7. from what i can see the yics is still hooked up and never thought about that i remember seeing post on it to bypass it but cant find those post i will do some more digging if it doesnt need it i will get rid of it
  8. big c that bracket you got from ebay is what you will need i took mine off for now but will put it back on soon they mount to the of your bag guards if i had mine ion i would take pics and post but i dont have it on maybe someone can get some and post them for you
  9. i have discoverd my problem all though i now have the mr gasket 42s pump on it it will crank and run but only at half to full choke i can spray a silicone lube spray on all the hoses under the carbs and it will run fine no choke for a few min then die unless i catch it in time and choke it or spray the hoses agan i got a leaking vac hose now to find all the culprits its probably the caps to they all 30 + plus years old from the looks of it :detective:

  11. i got the mr gasket 42s on mine now it is still a work in progress to mount it but the bike runs on full choke to half choke it will idle for a minute then dies i sprayed some silicone spray lube on all the vac hoses and it will run fair no choke for a couple min at idle and reving it to 3+ k and then she wants to die so now i have to track the culprate and replace it but figure i will just replace all the vac hoses and caps

  13. i dont have the screen on the petcock wish i did but i change the filter out every 6 months but now it will run at an idel and when i rev it up it will run good but then die when i cycle out the kill switch to filll the carb bowls back up it will crank and run then die the pump is very weak

  15. my bike doesnt have a chance to sit its my only transportation at the moment a can of berrymans in the tank and cycling out the pump i let it set a day did it again the next day and a 3rd day started cranking in it it would almost start let it set for an hr and she finaly cranked and ran very rough then smothed out but at half throttle onlty turning at 12 rpm for 10 min then she died cycled the fuel pump 3 times anc cranked her up and she ran nicely good throttle response and she idled at 950 for 15 min noticed # 2 carb slide did not want to move tried to move by hand and was stuck not a good sign but she runs for now im hoping that will work out it did the last time that happened on # 2 carb starting to look for another set of carbs to rebuild to put on it
  16. i have changed out my feul lines from the tank to the pump the new filter came apart so i sprayed the od filter with either and got a lot of junk pump now cuts off after 5 seconds but now im not getting fuel to the carbs well not enough fuel i also changed the plugs just in case the old ones were getting good spark as well as the new ones im at a lose it pumps fuel to the carbs i can only get 2 drain unscrewed and they have fuel coming out the other 2 wont budge i may need some carbs dont know it will run on either but i dont like using that stuff
  17. its definatly getting air but also continues to pump it wont hold good pressure when i put a clear hose on the out line it will continue to pump when i hold my finger over the out hose and no gas is coming out take my finger off the end of the hose and she will pump gas out but not very strong
  18. i did the last time i changed it went to a napa i think its a 4007 i bought 2 of themi have had hard time starting the bike the last week or so having to prime the pump at last count was 10 times before she would fire and i never lat it get past the 1 bar on the guage so im figuring fuel lines i have some real spingee soft fuel lines on it so im chhangeing them out to new ones i hope that helps

  20. :rotf::rotf:steve i thought about that and had to and check then i realized i never took the line off going to the carbs i found dry rot hoses not a good thing got new hoses today but its raining so going to wait to put them on :whistling:
  21. i got to look real clos at the fuel lines and im still loseing prime i cant see it but looks can be decieving so im just going to replace them from the carbs t the tank
  22. i took my little air pump and blew out both my lines to the tank and the carbs line to the carbs acted like it had a blockage in it but finly blew out the gas trapped in the line hooked up my main line and started pumping then connected all my lines to the carbs once all that was hooked up it sounded like a weak pump its been giving me problems the last week or so and i finally got the filter changed out guess i need to get a fuel pump if i can keep it running long enough but first to charge the battery
  23. can anyone tell me what would cause the pump to continuously run i just changed my fuel filter and now it wont run the pump is pumping and im not losing fuel anywhere im lost and thats my only means of transportation to work
