1. Speaking about portable propane tanks ... Not exactly true ... if the connection is on the inside thread of the tank valve, yes but other fittings that go onto the outside thread are right threaded. What the reasoning there is, I don't know.
2. Victory CCT
3. NOOOOOOOOO ... I'm lookin at a Victory CCT
4. Well Jeff, that does give me an idea...
5. Well, since my wife is bigger than me in that department......
6. I was thinking WHITE actually
7. yup... we "guys" do do some dumb things, don't we? Years ago I was doing a bit of body work on an old truck. Patching a rusted out hole. I had the bondo and I had one of those rubber sanding blocks, the kind you hook the sandpaper into each end... but I didn't have a bondo spreader so ... I decided to cut the rubber lip off the sanding block... with a utility knife! I'm sure you can figure what happened next ..... yup, the knife slipped and went full blade deep into the side of my leg. Yup, like a real dummy ... I was holding the rubber block against my leg and cutting TOWARDS myself! (now you know why it says "not your average dummy" below ) Hope you're gonna be ok and don't get an infuction ...
8. Really? Nina didn't tell me you'd been talking to her.... You do it for me then... I'm chicken
9. I used this "ploy" to buy the Wing
10. Well, we are having some seat comfort issues so maybe I could use that as an excuse..... Too bad the Wing doesn't have an ashtray...
11. Been there, done that ... but this one's a keeper.
12. Now this one sounds interesting ... I could get the new scoot and then tell her that her new jewelery is on back order... no?
13. ya ya ya ... I can hear ya before ya type it.... Anyhoo ... I need some fancy, elaborate reason(s) (aka excuses) (aka tall stories) ... something believable that I can use to convince the "boss" to let me buy a new bike ... yes, a new one worth close to 25 grand, and go into debt again for 3 years. Can y'all help me out with this? I promise I won't tell her how I came up with "your" reason.... (it would kill the deal for sure LOL)
14. This becomes effective June, 2013. The National Highway Safety Council has done extensive testing on a newly designed seat belt. Results show that accidents can be reduced by as much as 95% when the belt is properly installed. Correct Installation is illustrated below....... Please pass on to family and friends. THIS MAY HELP SAVE A LIFE!
15. Just voted ... but she's a tad behind the leader ... c'mon all you VR members ... VOTE!!
16. You probably won't notice any clutch slippage under "average" riding conditions if the clutch is in good condition. If you're cranking it on in 3rd or 4th you might notice some slippage as the revvs get up there ... if you do, then you want to beef up that clutch spring if nothing else. I was noticing that on mine and I doubled the spring.
17. Somewhere where I haven't already lived Actually, nowhere north of Kamloops for sure. Not Revelstoke ... gets too much snow. Grand Forks is an "up and coming" retirement area with good support systems for seniors and prices are still reasonable. Really like the Oliver area but that's getting pricey. Salmon Arm is another really nice area. Of those three I've only not lived in Grand Forks. Lived in almost every other part of the southern half of the province as well as Burns Lake in the north. There are other areas I'd consider (further east) but the wife .... well, she's a WET Coast girl and her kids are here and ... and ...
18. OK, maybe it wasn't a standard upgrade; however, one could get the "Premium Audio package, which had six speakers and an 80 watts per channel external amplifier." And yes, the ECM was changed... dang, I read about that and I failed to mention that specifically ... kinda figured it was part of the rad & fan changes ; however, I did read that the radiators and cooling fans were changed to bigger units ... dunno about the direction of the fans although I've also read where folks have reversed them. I read a lot about this stuff .... suppose one shouldn't always believe in what they read eh? As for lunch, it better not be in a doggie bag !
19. Did they not also change the alternator drive gear in 2006? Seems to me the pre- '06 gears were prone to failure. And didn't they put a better radio & speakers into the 2006 & up? ... oh, and weren't the radiators and cooling fans bigger? ... but these are just stuff I've heard ... I'm certainly no expert so like you say ... folks should not listen to me.
20. I've lived here for 11 years and I honestly doubt I will ever get used to it. Once I retire, we're moving to the interior where there is 4 distinct seasons and a whole lot more sunshine. In our case, we choose to ride down a day in advance and stay over 2 nights ... a nice little weekend getaway ... for Mother's day (since we missed the trip on her b/day).
21. If you can, get a 2006 or 7 as there were several updates starting with the 2006. Do some digging on one of the goldwing forums about this before you pull the plug.
22. Shoulda bought a Wing .... no more decisions.
23. Can't answer your Q Brian but I do recommend you either get a HD spring or double up with 2 stock springs ... will eliminate any chance of clutch slipping. oh, and "HD" doesn't mean Hardley Daverdson LOL
24. heck, I don't count on anything the weatherman says beyond the day before and even that doesn't always prove accurate. We're now planning on riding down on Friday afternoon and staying 2 nights.
25. Due to crappy weather forecast the Lacey M&E got moved to May 11th from Apr 27th. As of this past Friday we've been blessed with fantastic weather ... breaking high temps records all over the province. Continueing thru to this coming Friday and then ..... according to the weather reports, it clouds up late Friday, Saturday periods of rain and Sunday rain all day. DAMMIT I hope it's WRONG
