  1. I need information as to how our triked '89 Venture Royale is going to react at mountain pass elevations exceeding 9000 ft. I know I will have some loss of power. Am I going to have to worry about overheating or burning a piston if I pay attention and take it easy?
  2. The body is from a Tri-Wing kit. They didn’t want to sell me one, had to beg, borrow, and really argue with them to get it. Otherwise, the frame system and suspension are all out of my head.
  3. The rear bumpers and the luggage racks on the fenders were made from stainless steel rod that I cut, formed, welded, ground, and polished. They aren't as shiny as I'd like them to be, but I got tired.
  4. Just an update: Finally had some days without rain so was able to put the trike outside and get some pictures of it from all angles. You can see them at photobucket. http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc381/vicco2763/Trike%20from%20all%20angles/
  5. We finally had a day without rain so we could roll the trike outside and take some pictures of it from all angles. The results are posted in photobucket. http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc381/vicco2763/Trike%20from%20all%20angles/

  7. Thank you everyone for all the great comments. They’re really nice to read. The project took about three and a half years. Would’ve been done sooner, but I lost time in 2009 and 2010 because of having major surgery and couldn’t work on it for several months. My wife had surgery in February of this year and I lost a few weeks because I was taking care of her. The reverser is an outboard motor flywheel mounted to the drive shaft and uses an outboard motor starter. It doesn’t work perfectly. I need to push it backwards with my toes to get it started rolling before using the switch. I think I should have used a smaller flywheel ring gear. The rear end is a 7.5” Cougar, T-bird w/IRS. I haven’t done any rake change yet, but it does seem to steer weird. Didn’t think to make a place for a spare fuel tank. The body is from a Tri-Wing kit. They didn’t want to sell me one, had to beg, borrow, and really argue with them to get it. Otherwise, the frame system and suspension are all out of my head. . When we get a chance, we’ll take some pictures of it from all angles and put them in a photobucket album so you can see what it looks like.
  8. And on June 15th, we’ll be leaving on the ultimate road trip. The plan at this time is to head east across Oregon, angle northeast across Idaho to Yellowstone Park. After a tour of the Park, we’ll continue east through Wyoming to Mt. Rushmore. From there, we’ll head south to Colorado Springs for the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb. Then it will be on to the Grand Canyon for a trip on the Skywalk and a helicopter flight over the Canyon. On to Vegas, where we take in a show or two, northwards to Reno, and then back to our home in Springfield OR. We’ve scheduled a full month for the journey. If there’s anyone out there who would be on, or close to, our route who would like to meet for coffee, a meal, or just a quick visit (while we rest up for the next segment of the journey) give us a shout. And, maybe, if anyone out there would have shop space available for maintenance (or repairs) you could let us know. We can’t be specific about when we’ll be anywhere, but we will have the laptop with us and will check messages and emails at least once a day, maybe more. Depends on when and where we can get internet service. We’ll be sure to post some pictures when we get back. Here is the link to the build project photo album in photobucket if you want to take a gander at how it was accomplished. http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc381/vicco2763/ __________________
  9. We put an assortment of build pictures of the bike to trike project in a photobucket album. They can be seen at http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc381/vicco2763/ I'll also put a few of the basic pictures in our gallery in here. When I have the time and figure out how to do it. lol
