  1. www,zennioptical.com

I have bought several pair from www,zennioptical.com also. They are the cheapest price I have found. Usually around $60 for single vision. If you go to the sight select googles from the menu on the left. There are 3 pages of different styles.

Normally takes about 3 weeks for prescription glasses to ship. I mistyped my prescription on one pair I ordered (totally my fault) and they replaced them with no problems or additional cost.

  2. I remember when I was a kid gas was 19 cents a gallon. Dad would give me a quarter and I would ride my bike to the corner store, fill up the gallon can for the lawnmower and have enough left for a coke and piece of candy. Had to drink the coke there cause there was a deposit on the bottle. And I am not that old either.

  3. I remember when my Dad got my Mom her fisrt Dryer. He came home with 2 metal poles with a T at the top with 4 holes in it. We buried them deep in the ground and ran 4 wires between them. Took down the rope between the trees. She could hang clothes, sheets and towels all at one time. She was very happy.

  4. There is a big difference between a Motorcycle Club and a Riding Group. I belong to several Riding Groups. MCs have strict rules and regulations. RGs are pretty much open to anybody that like to ride. I always refer to these as Riding Groups so as to not give the wrong impression. I consider VenturRiders a Riding Group.

  5. Ethonal does some bad things. It eats up gas lines in chain saws if they sit for a couple of months without being completely drained first, know this from first hand experience. It also eats up plastic gas tanks in 4 wheelers and personal water crafts if they sit over the winter with gas in the tank, my mechanic that works on my 4 wheeler says he gets lots of these and warranty will not cover it. My 4 wheeler, a 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 400 does not run very well on 10% ethanol. I buy gas from the oil company in town without Ethanol for my 4 wheeler, chain saws and lawnmower. I can tell a big difference in power and idle smoothness in my 4 wheeler when I use gas without Ethanol. When I use gas with Ethanol it idles rough and does not have a much power.

Not too concerned about the Venture cause I can ride it almost year round here in TX and it does not sit for that long.

  6. I have a Charter Arms Bullpup 44 spcl, 5 shot, brushed stainless revolver that I normally carry. Small enough to conceal, but has a big punch, recoil feels a little less than a 357 mag to me. I also carry a Kel-Tec P3-AT 380 auto sometimes. Will fit in my jeans pocket easily. Have the 9 shot extended magazine that will give a little longer grip, but does not fit in pocket.

  7. I rode 2 days on the Southern Route last year on my Blue 07 RSV, Terrell Tx to Meridian MS. Wish I could do more but work kept me from it. Great experience and would recommend it to anyone Vet or not. Lots of great folks on this mission.

Don't know if I can ride 2011 RFTW yet. Had a stroke in October that affected my eyesight. Have not tried riding yet. It is getting better and I hope by spring to be back in the saddle again.

  8. It is getting time for the Rut. Bucks will be chasing Does. Keep an extra eye out for early morning and late evening. This is when they are usually most active, but they can be anywhere at anytime this time of year.

  9. I have a friend of mine that has an 08 with 2800 miles. Mine is an 07 with 32,000. He is retired and in good health. I am still working. I am always giving him a hard time about never riding. Everytime I ask him about going with me if it's more than a couple of hours ride he says no. I just don't understand some people.

  10. You should add some eye drops to your kit. Even though most folks wear riding glasses you can still get small stuff in your eye. I know this by experience, sand can get anywhere. Get the just a saline solution to wash out debris.

  11. This one must be real, I got it today. After all it came from the FBI.

  12. When I was 19 a friend of mine and I were on our 75 Yamaha 250 Enduro's riding in my hometown. We stopped at a stop light on one of the major roads and his brother pulled up beside us in his Chevelle. Asked Kenneth if we wanted a beer. He said sure and took one from his brother and handed to me and he took one for himself. We opened them and drank em riding thru town. Now this was a dry town, mainly Southern Baptist at the time. If we had been spotted by the LEO's we would have probably gone to jail.

Something about riding with him on those bikes got us in trouble more than once. We were at a park on a big lake in the area the young folks used to hang out at on weekends. The park had a big circular drive. We had been there all afternoon with friends hanging out and drinking beer. When we got ready to leave we both decided to ride a wheelie all the way around the park, it was packed with people and we were showing off. About 2/3 around there was a cop standing in the middle of the road waving us to the curb. Asked what the hell we thought we were doing. I told him just showing off. Asked how much we had to drink that day and we both said a couple of beers (more that a couple). He asked where we were headed and we told him home. He said if we would go straight home he would let us go. We promised we would and he said to consider this our lucky day, he was getting off shift and did not want to the paper work for arresting us. He did follow both of us home to make sure we went straight home and were all right to drive.

Needless to say I quit doing those fooolish things as I got older.

  13. I carry Propel, it is a powder you can buy at most grocery stores that you add to water. It comes in a 10 pack and just pour it into a bottle of water and shack. Comes in different flavors and helps replensish electolyes like gatorade or sports drinks, but much cheaper.

  14. Myself and my girlfriend are both big and she is 5'10. It does make a difference on handling when she rides with me. Mainly noticible in slow speed turns and uturns. Check tire pressure and add to rear shock. I normally run my rear shock at 25 PSI one up but increase it to 40 with 2 up.

  15. The 22nd Run For The Wall http://www.rftw.org/ departed yesterday on their 10 day trip from California to DC. The ride is to promote healing among ALL veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world.

There are 2 routes, a Central Route and a Southern route. I will be joining the SR Sunday morning in Terrell, TX to ride with them for 2 days to Meridian, MS. If you see a group of 300 to 400 bikes going down the highway between now and the Friday before Memorial Day you will know what it is.

They will participate in Rolling Thunder http://www.rollingthundermotorcyclerally.com/ on Sunday May 30 which is more than 250,000 motorcycles riding thru the nations capital.

  16. The VSTAR 1300 Touring is not a RSV. The RSV is a V-4 liquid cooled shaft drive touring bike with fairing, stereo, CB, tour pack, and hard saddlebags. The VSTAR Tourer is a V-Twin air cooled, belt drive with windshield and hard covered saddlebags. It is also about 150 lbs lighter than the RSV. Have not ridden one so don't know how it rides, but being a V-Twin it will probably have more vibration than the RSV V-4.
