  1. Hey, Jeff............what Bongobob didn't show or explain is that that is only ONE WALL in his garage. Do you think that he will show you the other walls??? I think Bob is trying not to show how big his problem is.........

    Sorry, Bob...had to say it.

  2. I retired three years ago and have never worked so hard in my life. My "honey do list" gets longer and longer every month. This winter I have easy projects to do indoors though.....painting, new hardwood floors, buying a new car and buying a new hot tub. This Spring I move to outdoor projects...adding another deck to the house, more landscaping and building a roof over the deck next to the pool. YEP....retirement gives me so much time, I don't know what to do with it all but at the end of the day I am exhausted. I think I need to go back to work so I can rest!

  3. I-80 will take you right across the GW Bridge right into NYC. It's best to cross before 6:00 AM and after 9:00 PM or otherwise the traffic will cause a delay getting across the bridge. Traffic gridlock during the day will drive you crazy and the potholes on the cross bronx xway will swallow a bike whole. I drove a tractor trailer there for three years and will never do it again.

BTW, Barry has got it right.

  4. Hi...my name is Jayceesfolly and I am addicted to HF! :shock3:

There, I said it !!! I feel better already! I have taken the first step.........except my left hand is shaking (the one with the CC in it!) and I have broken out in a cold sweat. I can feel it beading up on my forehand. I am beginning to feel light headed and dizzy. I think I better sit down............................

    Withdrawal symptoms are awful. :confused07:

  5. And the idiots that run the USPS can't figure out why they are going broke. Because you don't offer a decent service for the money and if you don't, someone else will eat your lunch. In the service industry, you have to prove yourself on every single transaction, every day and the USPS hasn't been doing that for years.

  6. I also have the Rick's HO output stator in my 1st Gen and I also added a Shindengan FH012AA Regulator/Rectifier to handle the increased voltage and amps. It has worked flawlessly for two years now. It now charges at an idle (at 14.5 volts), which the stock Yama stator did not do. Also I wired the output of the R/R direct to the battery and did not use the bikes wiring harness. I feel that this will eliminate any potential problem in the wiring harness from disrupting the charging circuit. The R/R can monitor the battery directly and maintain a stable electrical system better. Shindengan makes a newer version of the R/R than the FH012AA, so you should do some investigating on the latest model number for your bike. Search for threads on the Shindengan R/R for more details.

  7. Jeff:

Here is a "G" rated pic. I hope it helps your brain!

This was the conventional hot tub I had at my old home.

    Glenn:

I looked at the Spa-n-Box and the write ups didn't rate them very well, so I think I will keep looking for another unit.

  8. Thanks for the replies. I am going to explore the moisture problem a bit more and will look at putting a ventilating system in the basement. I originally just wanted to be able to use the hot tub outside in the summer and then move it indoors in the winter, so we can continue to use it during the cold winters here. I'm getting too old to sit outside in a hot tub in 15 degree weather. It's not the tub that is the problem, but the cold air (on my bare butt) when I run from the tub to the house and back!! How's that for a picture!! :cold: :moon:

  9. When I retired three years ago, my wife and I bought a new home and left behind a conventional hot tub, at our old home. We enjoyed it for 15 years and then got rid of it because of age and the fact that we no longer were excited to be going out in 15 degree F weather to use it outside on the patio, in the winter.

We have been discussing getting a new one for our home but don't want to put it outside due to the expense of keeping it heated in our Western NY winters. I have seen advertisements for the new inflatable spas and tubs and thought we could use one outdoors in the summer and then move it into our basement in the winter so that we could use it year round.

Do any members have one of these units and use it indoors in the winter and what are the drawbacks about the moisture level in a heated basement? Any and all comments and thoughts (both pro and con) would be appreciated.

As I mentioned, I have owned one for many years, so I am familiar with the operation and chemicals, etc.. Just not sure about the moisture in an enclosed heated basement.

  10. Hi Steve:

If you have an old Zerk fitting, check out the ball in the tip. Not sure what the size it is but may work. Pull one off an old piece of equipment and cut the tip off with a hacksaw.

    Just thinking out loud here.

  11. Six years is my limit. It is hard to justify using a tire that may fail, in a curve at 70MPH, when you can put new tires on for about $100 each.

How much is your health and safety worth to you?? Everyone has to answer that question for themselves. Personally, I replace them more frequently than most riders, I think, but I would rather have a new tire than an unknown tire. I never buy a tire more than 1 year old from a tire reseller. I always check the date before I buy.

But, that is just me, because I will ultimately pay for a tire failure, and I like my body to stay in one piece and fully functioning!

  12. Glenn:

Can't help you with the trike part but the temp gauge not working is a common problem on this model bike. The sensor wire has come off the mounting stud on the sending unit. Sending unit is behind the right side radiator cover (chrome cover with yellow reflector attached). There is a green or blue wire (can't remember which color) with a bullet connector on the end. The connector loses it's grip and falls off the sending unit. Look for the loose wire near the sending unit and then squeeze the bullet connector slightly and push back on the stud on the sending unit. There is a write up and pics of this problem on the Forum somewhere but can't locate it at this moment.
