    I worked as a senior design engineer for Crosman for about 15 years and designed a few of the guns in your pics. I had a collection that was about twice what your pics show. But, I collected only the old guns that were hard to find even back in the 80's. The Model 600 (the semi auto one) was a very hard to find model and to this day, is almost impossible to find one with the cams in good shape.

     

    I sold my collection when I moved a few years ago but I did hang on to all my gold plated models I managed to acquire. They are all one of a kind. I also have two or three guns that were presented to me with my name engraved on them. I also have a gold plated Model 760.

     

    It's been many years since I have fired one of those guns.

  2. I have 4 pair of Diamond Gusset and 4 pair of Draggin Jeans. I prefer the Diamond Gusset because they have the velcro cuff on them to keep the pants from riding up in the wind and, in my opinion, more comfortable than DJ jeans. The Draggin Jeans are not as comfortable a fit because the kevlar on the knees have a tendency to rub my skin just above the kneecap when I do any long walks in them. I don't wear them when I have to do a lot of walking in them.

     

    But, I ALWAYS wear them when I am on the bike. If you have ever had road rash on your legs or arms, you will spend the $100 for these jeans, just so you don't have to think about ever having road rash again.

  3. 2nd gear issue was fixed starting with '85 model (mid year, I think). Units with a serial number above 1413 (last four digits) should have the new tranny fix.

     

    A bike that has been sitting for 25 years may need restoration, from all the rubber hoses to all seals (forks and brakes) and fluids, plus the frame has a history of cracking and breaking near the center stand. And while your in there, you might as well upgrade the brakes and brake lines and add progressive front springs as the front fork springs may be shot. IMHO not worth $650. I would put my money in something newer.

    It's still a great program for $40 though.

  5. No, no lifetime updates. My version is about two years old and I haven't had a problem with finding a road or address. The hotels and restaurants may be a little out of date but my GPS can fill in when needed. I have been using S&T for about 5 years and like it a lot. I think it's a great deal for $40. You can import and export GPX files and also has a GPS function built in.

    Here is the directions from Microsoft S & T for Sandyville to Dallas, OR. The route was programmed for a 15 min. break every two hours and the start time was 9:00 AM and end time was 5:00 PM. This route is the quickest, therefore all Interstate and 65 MPH. This is about 500 miles per day (+/- 25 miles).

     

    The route can be programmed almost any way you want.

  7. Just purchased a black 06 RSTD. Coming from a 1300 VTX. Purchased from 72 yr old who bought it new. Seems to be in excellent condition. Paid 6 grand. You think this was a good deal.

  8. Upon reflection there may be a space and/or access problem. My bike is put away and I am not sure if there is enough room and/or clearance around the reservoir to do this. Will check my bike later in the week and see if my idea is plausible.

    I slip a wrench over the outside of the reservoir where the threaded plug goes in (the angled part) of the body, to help support the metal and then use another wrench on the fill plug hex head. The wrench over the angled part should fit very close to support that pot metal.

     

    What we need is a piece of aluminum that would span the width of the reservoir and fit over each end. And then mill an angled slot in it to fit snugly around the fill port. This would support the whole side of the reservoir. Maybe .375" or .500" thick aluminum.

     

    Now all we need is someone with a mill to make up a prototype?????

    I have a motorcycle trailer you can use if you want to travel. I have hauled my 89 VR all over the Northeast with it. It has a steel ramp plus separate walk up ramps and a winch to load a non-running bike. It has a flat deck, so you can store extra boxes or cartons strapped down on it. I don't have pics of it because it has my jetski body on it and it is covered for the winter. If your interested, come on down in the Spring and see if it will work for you. I pull it with my Buick Regal and don't even know it's back there.

  12. Yeah, what Randy (Venturous) said, the 1200 carbs have a different vacuum pickup port location than the 1300 carbs. Timing will be different. Someone more knowledgeable than I can explain the difference to you. Although if you had the problem with the original carbs, I don't know if the vacuum hose location is the problem.

The fuel pump will only pump fuel to the carb bowls for a few seconds and then will shut off because the bike has a sensor that prevents the fuel pump from continuous operation, unless it detects the engine running. When the key is first turned on, you will hear a series of clicks as the pump operates. Then will stop after the sensor turns the pump off, if the engine does not start. You may have to turn the key on and off several times to get the carb bowls full. After each series of "clicks" look for the fuel leak after each cycle. As stated in a previous post, it is probably stuck floats. If you can get them to shut off, your best bet is to do a Seafoam soak for the carbs.

    The fuel pump is located under the left (kickstand) side of the fuel tank and is round with four bolts on the face of it.

     

    As stated earlier, one of our members (Skydoc_17) sells a fuse block that has everything you need to change your fuses. It is a great kit and is complete with instructions.

  14. I agree with Bob, move the axle rearward. I have also pulled pups and rule # 1 is always have the heaviest trailer in front, so the weight is forward for control purposes.

    Actually, the frame is not centered on the long sheet of plywood. It is just sitting loose on top of the plywood.

     

    If you look at the photo in post #25, there is a waterproof hatch in the bow compartment. This compartment acts as a buoyancy chamber and keeps the canoe afloat if it swamps. There is also a chamber in the stern. The two chambers will support the yacht and two paddlers even when completely full of water.

    Yes, I have built about 6 or 7 canoes, kayaks, etc over the years. This "yacht" is a pirogue and is built without any metal fasteners. It's 17 feet long, and made with spruce frames and 1/8" birch luan plywood. Weighs 38 lbs. The plans are available for free on the Internet. PM me if you want more info.
