  1. Hi all I just got word that my brother had a heart attack and is in Kingwood hospital too weak to move to Morgantown University hospital. He has had heart problems for a while with two triple bypasses. Please pray for him and the family.

  2. West Virginia still hasn't got a confirmed case yet but its coming. Toilet paper and hand sanitizers are scares and people are crazy. In the meantime, I recommend buying lots of ammo. In the end we'll see who wins...

LOL. Skid a friend of mine has about 2 hundred cases of hand sanitizer. He bought it at an auction and uses it to start his Pellet stove. Maybe he should have got a load of TP as well.

  3. the 1 gallon container is 6" wide x 7" deep x 10.25" tall

Anyone have the dimensions of the Gen2 RSV saddlebag? My RSV is 1500 miles away from me right now.

I measured mine. If you put it in the front of the bag it will fit.

  4. My understanding is it is more contagious and has a higher mortality rate than the typical flu. So I guess it should be a bit more concerning, particularly to people who are older or in poor health.

I think a big part of it is there is nothing else for the press to really chew on and it is the political season. Remember, The President pointed out that there wasn't any reason to panic and compared it to the bad strains of flu that come around occasionally. He was roundly criticized for not doing enough.

Then they closed Italy, so the Italians are doing something. If a leader doesn't close schools, stop public events and restrict travel guess who's going to take the heat for not doing enough if someone gets sick? Safer to follow the herd and put the clamps on.

Now, it would be courteous for someone who is sick to stay home for awhile to avoid spreading it in the community. That's why the health agencies have recommended keeping some supplies on hand. Unfortunately it appears that some are preparing to lock themselves in their hide outs for an extended period. Last night someone I know posted pictures of empty shelves in their local Wal-Mart. It wasn't just TP. Meat, eggs, packaged foods (I couldn't read the tags to know just what) and milk were cleaned out. Seriously, how long can someone hoard milk?

I am concerned about TP scarcity. This happened right as we needed to buy more and we're having trouble finding any. Since there hasn't been a Sears catalog in decades this has the potential to be a problem in our household. Fortunately I do have access to a good supply of corn cobs.

You could always use a copy of Better Homes and Garden. :Avatars_Gee_George:

  5. I bought a new one with the twin turbo's - 2017 model. In February it was 2 years old with just under 90,000 miles. No problems at all and gets 19-20 MPG without a trailer.

That mileage will probably drop to half that with tailor.

  6. I haven't used the Shinko tires as I can not find the size for the rear. I have had very good luck on the E III's. That is what is on the bike now and the date code is 4313 Very good tread but I will change them out to Dunlop 404's as I am not riding as much. As for changing tires often I don't care as I have a tire changer in my shop.

  7. Tip and I LOVE that picture of you and Ron Peggy = just gorgeous!! Yes indeed,, you are a passenger,, a passenger aboard a magic carpet ride to freedom and adventure!! Now,, just to share a few words about Ron and his change in attitude because his best friend is enjoying that magic carpet ride with him.. Many times the depth of what Ron (and others like him) is feeling can be misunderstood..

Although Tips reason for not riding in the early years was different than yours (she stayed home and took care of 3 kids while I chased around the country with the 4th offspring for many miles), she spent little to no time "in the saddle" with me.. Once the kids flew the nest she took to the passenger seat like a duck to water. Even though we were having the time of our lives covering thousands of miles together, one thing kept popping up,,, any time we would pass groups of lone riders all packed together she would make comments like: "are you sure you wouldnt rather be enjoying your time with a group like that?".. I always reassured her that finding the magic in the carpet ride was a lot more fun when sharing with your best friend.. Still though,, having your husband say this can only go so far.. Then one day a life changing event happened:

We pulled into a little town just outside of Cody.. As I was exiting the local supply house with a pop in hand, a group of riders pulled in from Jersey.. One of those riders came over and was reading Tweeks adventure stickers,, looked at me and said they had passed us back on Bear Tooth and had all commented about how cool it was to see an older couple out enjoying life together.. He then made the comment about how badly he wished his wife would even consider doing such a thing and how lonely it can get covering thousands of miles alone... I stopped him and asked if he would mind sharing his thoughts with Tip when she came out.. He said SURE and he did!! After that day Tippy never again mentioned her thoughts as to whether or not I would rather be riding "with the boys"... Thought I would mention this Sister:happy34:

How true yorur words are. I have been riding for many years. I have been on local group rides and wishing the wife was with me but she was always working. That is why we would plan at least one trip a year to get away together. I have not had the bike out much the last two years as I have lost interest in riding alone. Hopefully that will change this year as she plans to retire in July. :fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo
