    I LOVE those R1 Rems,, awesome shooters! Heyyy,, I think I saw one one time that was high capacity,, 12 or 15 rounds? Is that your model?? I am not talking about extended mags,, I think I got a 20 rounder for my 1911,, I am talking about DOUBLE STACK magged,, a little wider in the grip then the standard GI 1911... Not sure if all R1 Rem 1911's were double stacked... Oh PLEASE Roller,, tell me it aint so!! If it is I may have to toss my REAL fine shooter 1911 custom out, come down to WV with a couple thugs who can still bend over without saying OUCH MY BACK IS KILLING ME,, have them tie you up while I take your new gun :big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::crackup::crackup::bighug::backinmyday::sign green with env:big-grin-emoticon:

    :scared:,, appears to have a mil-spec fire group.. If so and it were mine I would be chasing down a Franklin Binary trigger like ratta tat tat,, that fast!! THAT SHOOTER IS GORGEOUS TUFFY!!:thumbsup:

    Hay Puc I am always hearing you toot about 1911's. Well when I went to our family reunion on Sat. I got one from my nephew. It is a Remington R1s 45 ACP stainless with walnut grips. I will be changing them out for Crimson trace grips.

  3. My edc is a XDS 3.3, 9mm. My plinking pistol is a XDM 5.4, 9mm., Love having 19 rds +1. I am a Springfield nut. I am fortunate that i have my own shooting range for pistols and long guns. 300 yards is my limit to shoot.

    My neighbors would go nuts if I started shooting at my place. They had a fit because I was shooting my bow. We go over to a friends place to shoot. He has a mountain behind him and his uncles and grandfather live on each side and own to the top of the mountain so no complaints when we shoot.

  4. I have a double USB charging port with voltmeter hard wired into my battery so I can keep an eye on it. At cruise it reads just over 14 volts, at idle just over 13 volts. This pic was taken a few minutes ago with the bike off.

    You have it hard wired to the battery so it stays on all the time. How much draw is on the battery if you leave it set for a week or two?

  5. ROCK N ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2::clap2::dancefool::dancefool::thumbsup:

    I LOVED my 29!!! It was a 6 inch and WOWZY WOW WOW WOW was it accurate!! I used it for hunting deer and did very well with it (have harvested with my 1911 too).. It was also during a time when I was loading and ended up stretching the strap above the cylinder out so bad that I had 14 thou of slop in the cylinder so it went bye bye to a gun smith.. My Dad shot the 629 stainless like yours Sly but also in 6 inch.. I should have gone stainless too (fine weapon) as I would probably still be shooting it BUT I loved Harry's "go ahead punk,, make my day" shooter and loved carrying that great big bad to the bone blued machine!!!

    Well Puc mine is not a S&W but I like my Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 mag with scope in stainless the wife got me for our 10th. anniversary. My ccw is on the way and am looking at either a Ruger SR40C or a 45.

  6. I put a set of Shinko 777 HD's on yesterday along with a HID headlight. Went for a ride and stopped at a friends house and it died. Dead Battery, so we put it on charge and got it running to get me home. Started to check things out today and found a bad stator and regulator. OH well no riding for me for a while.

  7. Take 5 scoops,, take a 5 minute break,, take 5 more scoops,, take a 10 minute break,, take 5 more scoops,, go in and take a 2 hour nap :big-grin-emoticon::thumbsup:[/QUOT

    That sounds about right. That is what I did yesterday doing the tires on the bike. It was about 94* here and it took me all day to change my tires. I put Shinko 777 HD's on it and a new HID headlight. Finished it all up today. :Laugh: :Laugh:

  8. Carl you should be able to get a set of coil spring compression kit. Most auto stores sell them and any speed shop should carry them. They consist of two bolts and a muffler type clamp. You tighten the bolts and the spring compresses. Cheap and easy fix for what you want.

  9. I've ran the standard Shinko 777 and the Tourmaster 230 with good results, just shy of 10k miles on each and the both stuck like glue till the end. To me the 230s felt a little smoother-plusher in the ride but got around 1k miles less. Both tires could be had for $100 or less and I install myself so I could justify the short mileage.

    This go round I'm on an E4 that rang up a bit over $200. Its a stiff sidewalk and I ended up taking it to a shop to install so add another $40. I have probably 3-4k miles on it with no major wear showing. Its not a bad tire and has been fine rain or shine, but as Saddlebum listed above the higher mileage tires tend to compromise other things. To me the Shinko's felt more "planted" around fast sweepers, but people always tell me I throw this big ol' bike around more than they do with a bike 1/2 the size.

    I have a set of E3's on the bike now that I put on in 2015 before my trip to Branson they have at least 10,000 miles on them and still look great but they are 7 years old. I have my own tire changer so that is not a problem.

  10. Well I will find out if I like the Shinko 777's. I will be mounting them tomorrow along with a new headlight. The Silver star that is in now just isn't cutting it for me.
