  1. Hello Friends I have been struggling with a carb overflow issue for a while, cleaned the carbs, sort of dealt with it. Now I have an issue trying to start the bike, the starter clicks and then spins freely. no dice, I removed all the spark plugs in case of a hydro lock still nothing, I opened up the crank case via the chromed yamaha logo plate and tried to spin the crank shaft, had to put a lot of effort and then it broke loose, spun twice, squirted a bunch of gas via one the spark plug roles and then got stuck again, broke it loose it turned it twice and stuck, broke loose and so on.. so is my bike a goner? I am a cancer patient so I have very little strength to keep breaking it loose, does anybody have an idea??
  2. Thanks everybody, awesome help I bought the compression test kit just to realize after I got home that the Harbor Freight ones are not really reliable so I will get a better brand and get back to you as son as I get more info
  3. https://ibb.co/w6r7WBF Hey guys, sorry if the question is too basic or stupid, but my 86 Royale is my first bike and I am learning as I fix it ( or make things worse) After dealing with a dead battery this wire connector remained and it makes me wonder what is it for?
  4. I started mine, ran a bottle of sea foam as recommended by some members, still sounds like a lawnmower, and after running for like an hour, I found a leak in the rear cilinderhead, still gotta pinpoint were, found some wires that I can figure out what they are for as well, last thing spend the afternoon reading about cleaning and sync carbs and all, ran to harbor freight bought a compression tester, as soon as a get home I see thousands of bad reviews of the tester so no compression test today
  5. Thanks! it does sound like a lawnmower when its idling
  6. Hello All Just wanted to share a video and some pictures my "new to me" 86 Royale, I bought this bike for 300 dollars for parts ( it has a clean title ) the previous owner told me the engine was seized, leaks all over, it was a real pain to bring it home but we managed. I then hook it up to my trusty Costco Duracell starter and after barely touching the start button, the bike comes alive engine and stereo blasting, the air suspension works, everything seems to work so I am thinking on making it my main bike Now I post the video here to ask for more experienced ears to help me diagnose because it sounds really off despite not failing to start
