  2. The SVTC will go higher than 134 mph? I ran mine up to about 103 in 6th...it was about done. I'd guess maybe 108 with a long enough straight away. Has anyone posted the top end on these bikes?
  3. Bought mine in the middle of August, have over 6,000 miles on it now. Lots of things I like, however I came off of a Wing that I put 126K on. If Honda/Yamaha/Kawai/Suzuki would come out with a real touring bike that was not a V-Twin, I'd trade the SVTC in for it. After the Wing I am not a fan of the V-Twin. I don't hate it or anything, I just liked the smoothness of the flat 6 better. (especially for LD touring).
  4. Used a heat gun and the handle of a breaker bar to bend it around.
  5. For that spot on your knees that gets all of the air, rain, cold, heat and bugs. I added a 1/8" x 2.5" x 4.5" piece of tinted acrylic, bent it, used double sided tape to install it behind the upper wind wings. It has eliminated 99% of the air stream the hit you in the knees. I'll take it back off and make some more cuts for symmetry but it works excellent. Total cost...$5.00
  6. These do not, however I could have bought a $13 pair that did. Sent from my VS996 using Tapatalk
  7. I got tired of waiting and made my own passenger highway pegs. I had a piece of .25" stainless laying around a cut that up, added a $8.00 pair of pegs and painted the steel black. I may go back to polished stainless. I should have placed them about 1" higher and 1" further away. If any of you decide to do something like this. The left and right side are NOT the same, you cannot make one side and copy it for the other. Cutting and drilling stainless with hand tools is no fun!
  8. Pandora/Internet issues. If you are having issues with Pandora/Internet connection I discovered today in my Pandora settings a "Launch from car" setting. I enabled that and all is good!
  9. I believe it is a first year design and I know of a few failures but there is also a lot that has no issues. I now have a little over 4,000 miles and it runs great. I don't know what is making the noise but hopefully, it is something minor. Yamaha is giving this a 5 year warranty so I'm not going to worry about it. The only issue that bothers me is that I pull a trailer and now will not because I dont kow what is making the noise and dont want to give Yamaha a reason to deny coverage.
  10. Bike sat for about 36 hours. I started it up today, went about 2 blocks and heard it again but only for a split second this time. I do think it is something oil related. I'm just gonna ride it. I have 5 years before I have to worry about paying for it if it does eat itself. No trailer install for me though, at least not until I trust it enough.
  11. Chief, I've ran Darkside for the last 150,000 miles with my last tire being a runflat. I will be going runflat as son as the OEM is worn out. If you are capable of removing the wheel you can take it to Walmart and tell them you're putting it on a trilke. They are not able to balance but 4 oz of dyna beads and $7 and your oout of there.
  12. The first change used Valvoline Motorcycle oil 10/40, the second used Valvoline 10/40 and 20/50 (1/2 and 1/2). I put 2 qts in the crankcase and 3.6 qts in the tank.
  13. I taped mine under the left glove box lid. I like your area better. The key is useless for starting the bike so it doesn't matter a lot if found but I will be moving mine to your area. Sent from my VS996 using Tapatalk
  14. I bought my SVTC and rode it home 850 miles. I changed the oil and started it up, went about two blocks and stopped at a stop sign. I then heard what best I can describe is a spun bearing sound, metal to metal spinning for a few seconds and it went completely away. That was 5 weeks ago and it never returned until today...I hit 4,000 miles today and changed my oil, I went about two blocks and was in second gear when I heard the same sound again for a few seconds. Any thoughts on what it could be? Clutch maybe? I would take it in but you can not replicate it. Maybe the oil change is unrelated but I doubt it.
  15. I did this today, we all should do it before we actually need to on the side of the road. Your factory "number" is behind your metal key on the key FOB. [video=youtube;nBb-3d3Ypcc]

  17. I have the check mark in the box for two person control. I swore it worked when I checked it sitting in my garage but on our trip today everytime I changed inputs it changed hers too. I rebooted and it still did the same. Sent from my VS996 using Tapatalk
  18. Electrical Connections now has one available. https://electricalconnection.com/index.php/product/isolator-yamaha-venture-eluder/
  19. I got the backrest, heel/toe shifter and will be getting the brake. The lower wind deflectors are a MUST. I still have to get his and her highway pegs (If they ever release them for the passenger) and armrest for her.
  20. I added an Utopia. I really like it, it is the same one I had on my Wing. The install on the SVTC is much easier than it was on the wing. It took less than an hour. I could do it again in 20 minutes.
  21. I just bought mine two weeks ago out of Alabama...1,500 miles and so far it's been great but...
  22. I just did the same thing. It took 5.6 qt to bring it up halfway on the stick. With 5.2 it did not touch the stick. Sent from my VS996 using Tapatalk
