  1. I did not need to remove exhaust when I replaced clutch basket, I just ground down the allen wrench I needed to get behind pipes. There are several links on replacing clutch plates, I followed Skydocs directions because I used his kit and removed the 1/2 disc at bottom of stack. Not a bad job and if you keep bike on sidestand doubt you will loose much oil.

  2. Really hope its a neg. result on the test, will keep you both in our thoughts. My wife is HR at a local factory, so far 4 tested positive, all with minor symptoms and all doing well. There is lite at the end of the tunnel.

  3. I have a relay in front fairing, takes 5 mins to get to it. Also have Dion"s relay/harness for ignition switch under tank. Have a relay for stebel horn from Larry, down by horn area. Also put a fuse block in tour pack up against passenger backrest for other acces. You can put a relay just about anywhere you want on these bikes, between plastic covers and nooks and crannies there are plenty of places.

  4. Wish you were closer, does the motor run?, there is a guy on Madura Forum looking for a 1200 motor rite now.

I tell everyone that takes mine for a ride not to crack the throttle in first and second unless you have a quarter mile of straight road in front of you, cause you are gonna be doin 70 before you know what the heck happened.

  5. Spray some PB Blaster or any other penetrating oil you have around, in the joint, let set over nite, Tap end of muffler with block of wood and hammer next day. Spray some more then work up and down, side to side and twist.

Always worked for me. Bike will smoke and stink for awhile after you replace pipe and start it, but it clears once oil is burnt off.

    Good Luck, Craig

  6. Peggy, looks like you have way to much yard and way to many trees. My back hurts just looking at that pic. I guess it keeps you and Ron in shape keeping after the "estate" Always amazed when I think of you two clearing the land and building your dream house yourselves. That is a great story!

    Take care, Craig & Kim

  7. A Madura. Are we talking about Suzuki's old V4. I don't think I have seen one of them on the road in 10 years. I test road a used Cavalcade which I think was the same motor. It ran nice and smooth. Must be a V4 characteristic. I have learned to really appreciate the V4 and wish the new venture had the 1700 vmax motor.

Yep Suzukis ole V4, calvacade was 1400cc, Madura is 1200cc, but same motor. Have it from new and it still looks and runs perfect. That motor was way ahead of its time. I agree the Vmax motor would make a great bagger, but that argument was beat to death.

  8. Finished maint on trike and balanced carbs, hit 67 here so I went for a nice ride. Trike ran great and it felt great to go for a ride. Next up the Madura, maint. then total detail, they are calling for rain this weekend so I doubt I will get another ride in. Picked up stix in back yard with one of those 3ft grabber things, worked pretty good HF saved my back. Put fertilizer and crabgrass preventer on lawn. Peggy it seems like there is plenty to do, and I am doing it while I feel good.

Hope you and your first husband are keeping busy too, Craig

  9. I purchased it off eBay stating it was from a Stratoliner S and the wheel is a high polished cast aluminum with chrome rotors. It has been years since I've seen a Stratoliner / Roadliner in person & up close. I'm not sure if it was only a polished option vs rough cast or if there truly was a chromed wheel.

Thanks for the info, if your wife is tired of looking at it on the livingroom floor, let me know I am interested:smile5:

  10. well I started to sharpen all the knifes in the house. Should be done with this in a couple of weeks. How did I end up with this many knifes. I figure I'd better buy a bunch of band aids as I haven't used a sharp knife in years.:95: I may need a :223: to :223: me back to health:big-grin-emoticon:

Great idea! Added to my list:thumbsup2:

  11. Doubt that they "legally" want to arrest everyone, just issueing a strong request to those that would like to slow the spread of this virus. I found so many things to do in the house and shop, stuff I have been putting off for way to long. Working on bikes, closets, shop, and yard, getting a jump on spring, I personally like how it has slowed the world down a bit, although not at the expense of peoples health. If you are bored, stop over, I can find something to keep you busy:Laugh:

  12. I went with the 130 on front one time on my RSV, it definetly made the front seem lighter and was easier on low speed turns. I did not like how it made the bike feel at highway speeds, too lite and "squirrly" bike didnt want to track a straight line. It felt like it needed to be more solid and planted. Figured I spent alot more time on the highway then I did in a parking lot so I went back to 150, happily ever after...The End

Good luck on whatever you choose, Craig

  13. Went on internet and bought a supply of detailing stuff, wash, clay bar, 2 coats glaze, 2 coats wax, detail spray... doin that to each section of trike and bike. Will definetly kill some time in the shop!! You can shave in those back fenders.:thumbsup2:

  14. There were a few 07 bikes that had left rear valve cover leaks from factory, more of a nusance then a problem. The gaskets were replaced under warranty. Also if crankcase oil is overfilled you get oil up in carb air box, when bike sits on sidestand you can get oil residue on left side rear. I would clean it off as best as you can and then just keep an eye on it. Sounds like a good project for next winter. When you fill crankcase only fill to mid site glass.

The bike is built for 2 up touring, you will love that about it. It aint gonna be as lite and snappy as your FJ.
