Does it die because it has no electrical power? Check all wiring and grounds by wiggling them to see i connections are loose. Possibly an add-on ignition relay problem like mine was.

Does it die because it runs out of fuel? Fuel Pump after your 10 minute time period, should be clicking upon restart. If not, check fuel pump points.
If you are sure that you really have put in 5.6 qts total in (count your empty bottles etc), run the engine for 5 minutes and recheck level.
The hard way is to drain oil, measure what came out an start over.
I have a '12 Venture that is my exclusive hi-way ride, runs perfectly, and has a new set of tires on it. I have some other lighter/faster/slower bikes that I ride around town. But, for me, there is nothing like my Venture for long duty service.

Motorcycling is expensive. Just the nature of the beast. If you are sure it is your ignition switch, have removed the tank and inspected the wiring, made sure it does not already have a relay kit installed, then you really may have a bad switch.
