  1. Thanks guys for the hints. First thing i will check the plugs for any signs of running rich. if that's not it then I will be looking for some fellow VR members living close by that would be willing to help me do the stuff that RedRider mentioned.
  2. To say the truth It is pretty hot here this past week... high 30s celsius...so maybe that is the reason. I did not check the plugs... they were replaced as part of the recent service and the service guy did not mention anything about them.
  3. Hello VRs... I need some advice. Some time ago I posted a question about possible exhaust leak and got many responses there ... thanks again for that. While I did run couple of seafoam bottles through my RSV to get rid of that exhaust smell, it helped a bit but did not fix it completely. Now as the title of this thread says, I just experienced the WORST EVER gas milage on my bike since i got it last year... I had only 226 km (140 miles) on the odometer when the low fuel light came up. I went to the gas station and filled 16L (4.23gal) of gas. Recently I had the 25000 km service done by the local Yamaha service and I was told that it is in perfect condition and there is absolutely no problems or issues with the bike. I still have the same problem with exhaust fumes... just after the short 15 minute ride to work the lower part of my jeans smell like exhaust. I have two sets of pipes, the OEM and BUBs, but it doesn't really matter which ones i use... the result is the same. I have tried to look around for any cracks or holes or anything along the entire exhaust, but was not able to find anything. And now that milage... Can you guys throw some ideas/pointers??? I'm slowly giving up

On the site it would show real time progress... Used it only on couple of occasions and it worked fine.

  7. Hello all, Quick question... I was checking the bike out today and have noticed this small tube in the picture... Is it supposed to be attached to anything on the other side???

  9. I did not get an answer, but I've been looking on my own at some local places. As for me coming, I would really like to... I will not know for sure until middle of that week (work related).
  10. I guess it really depends on the GPS itself. I tried a similar method with my unit, but it would not hold in place as the back of my GPS is flat. In the end I had to spend some $$$ for the actual mount

  14. Helo gang... I know by looking at the threads that some of you have already done this "mod" to your bikes... Today I have successfully installed LED reflectors in the back in running/turn signal configuration. Here are some pics and a short write up of what/how I've done it. 1. Purchased the following from eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/261740379326 - I purchased set of red and set of amber as I am planning to change front as well. These units come with 3 wires to allow different hookup options... I've decided to go with running / turn signals. A quick note for those of you who would like to use the same LEDs... the running light is powered by the blue wire, and the blinker by the red wire... I found it a bit confusing as usually black and red would be set as normal operation and whatever other colour wire would provide some extra feature. At least that was the case when I was adding some run/stop/turn LED strips to my previous bike. Anyway... Bike with original reflectors mounted on the bag guards. 2. Removed the bag guards, marked location and drilled the hole to run cables 3. Removed the OLD reflectors from the base and used some heavy duty 3M double sided tape to mount the new LED reflectors (sorry, did not take picture of that) 4. Soldered some extra wires and used some shrink tubes to keep the wires nice and clean 5. Used some thicker wire to fish the LED wires through the guards 6. Quick test before mounting back on the bike 7. Run the cable from both sides up under the passenger seat to the battery box. I've spliced the wires with those splicers that allow you to have a connector on a side. I have also wired the ground wires from both sides together and also the running lights wires from both sides together to keep the number of slicing to a minimum. 8. Tested with all the connections 9. And finally... That's all folks... for now Next weekend project will be to add the amber ones to the front. \m/ Horns Up \m/ my friends. Have a great day.
  15. yes... i cleaned up and greased up everything inside. the axle it about 1/16 or less sticking out on the right side. the washer is in and the nut is torqued to 110 ft lbs i just finished installing the front wheel and took i for a ride around the block... all seems to be solid, so i guess/hope all is good. have a good one guys and ride safe
  16. Hello guys, I have a quick question for you all... I just replaced tires on my bike and after i reassembled the rear wheel, I'm not sure if the gap between the final gear assembly and the base of the wheel is not too big.   17. Thanks guys... It is still too cold here to ride to burn all that fuel with Seafoam but in the mean time I will check all the other things. BTW about the Seafoam... how much would you recommend I add to the tank for this treatment??? Should I just follow whatever the can says?
  18. hmm... no, not really like varnish... just like regular gasoline engine fumes. The bike came with after market slip-ons and the OEM pipes... I have changed the slip-ons to the OEM pipes as i did not liked the sound of the slip_ons. Would it be possible that maybe there are some seals or something missing, and I get all fumed up because fumes are escaping before they hit the actual mufflers???
  19. Hello everyone, I tried to search the forum for this but did not find much. I got mine RSV late in the season last year and while I did notice this before I did not pay much attention to it. Today I decided to de-winterize my bike and after I removed the cover and re-installed the battery I fired it up and let it run for few minutes. Now here is the thing... even though I did not stand directly behind the bike I smell like exhaust fumes. In my previous bike (VSTAR 1100 Classic) I could not smell the fumes at all. Now question to all of you seasoned RSV owners... Is this normal??? I would think not...in that case, what should I check/fix/replace??? Any pointers and/or ideas highly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
  20. Check out LastPass... It has plugins for every browser and can keep all your passwords secure and will even fill the login form for you... I use it both, at work and personally, and can honestly say that it is pretty darn nice piece of software.
