  1. I think they somehow blanked out a box or whatever he really took up the ladder. Then used computer skills to paste in the motorcycle. I noticed he stepped up rather quickly on the ladder rungs with that much weight. I've carried shingles up to a roof and it gets difficult to step up. I heard of guys taking a bundle on each shoulder. But we could only handle one pack of shingles at a trip up the ladder. Sure I know his weigh was centered. But his legs aren't that strong. Still they used a good setting for this video to make it more believable. Because strange things go on over there.
  2. My apologies. I did use the search but did not find the information for a long time. But I happened to use the home button and found the tech section and then found the starter replacement pdf. This is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I'm starting this job a little late and I may need parts and O rings it looks like, and I don't have a parts bike handy like he did.
  3. This seems hard for me to understand. Ok, I eyeballed the work a few minutes ago. I have an "89". The fairing doesn't seem to be in the way because there is a center section in front of the engine that unbolts with just 2 screws. The top bolt for the starter is mostly blocked by a large engine mount bolt and the large radiator hose. It looks like I might have to remove both radiator hoses near the bottom of the radiator. One exhaust pipe is in the way. But the other exhaust pipe is in front of a thermostat housing. If I have to remove the thermostat housing, then it really gets complicated. That is connected to the water pump by a solid connector. Can anybody else give me a slightly more detailed instructions on what they removed to do the job. I hope I can remove and replace the hoses without damage to them. I don't have much time left before the big ride to Guntersville. I have the replacement starter on hand. How about BlueSky ? Did you install yours yet ? Any words of wisdom?
  4. I didn't know about the Ohio camp out. But I like tent camping. I live not too far away. And bring on the turkey (legs)! I'd be interested.
  5. I purchased a used one from E-Bay. Was from a 98 Yamaha XVZ 1300 Royal Star. I assumed it would be an original. But it doesn't look like its a Yamaha part. Too late now. But how do I know. The reason I think its fake. It says MITSUBA SM-(fine print something). I checked the internals. It is a 4 brush. Looks like the communtor ring needs to be brightened up some. I was thinking on lightly sand it with 600 grit.
  6. been run over too. But they missed the best parts! Only got my leg. It could have been prevented with good defensive driving skills. The woman that ran me over. Her name was Lenora KILL! No kidding! I am dressing now according to the weather. I was barely able to purchase a cycle this year due to other bills and expenses. As time goes forward I'll try to get some motorcycle specific clothing.
  7. I've noticed feral cats clawing my tires. They like to sharpen their claws on my tires as well as the trees. They've scratched the bark completely off the tree nearby. Probably not your problem unless you have some bigger wild cats ! In fact, I'll have to make plans to have them removed because also I have see a certain one marking its territory and that'll be the end of that soon.
  8. I'll give you the info on the one I have. The prior owner spliced my suspension air lines and purchased this pump which seems to be of good quality. It has a price written on the box of $51.95 It is Progressive Suspension brand. They have several air pressure ranges. This one is the GP3-60 which is from 0 to 60 PSI range. It has a short flexible air line, a no loss air connector, and claimed 3% accuracy. It has a air bleeder button. Aluminum body. See website for possibly more info.
