  1. you might consider an air bag, ultralight and compact, and most carry an air compressor.just makes sense to me.
  2. as a mechanic for over 30 years,it has beenmy great displeasure to have to chase codes.having a code scanner from harbor freightisnt a bad thing however it does no good if you dont understand what actually causes the code to set .your midas should be able to read an historic code, but always ask for a second opinion if they tell you it could be an expensive fix for a code that has reset itself.(probably evap, especially if vehicle was fueled without shutting it off).good luck to you and hope its nothing serious.
  3. harbor freight sells a plastic welder that is pretty simple to use and does work well.
  4. are you using any coolant, white smoke usually is a sign of coolant burning in a cylinder
  5. you might also try installing mozilla firefox and make that your default and eliminate internet explorer and all of its problems(worked on my computer)
  6. got mine out on the road today,42 degrees, was a little chilly but at least northern new york allowed a little bit of joy.
  7. i have been a mechanic for over 30 years and nothing good can come from leaving it in the cooling passage.a flexable magnet should get a hold on it,and i suggest a 90 degree pair of needlenose vise grips to lock on with,a little wiggleing and it should come right out.
  8. on a whim i tied citrus orange hand cleaner without pumice on my chrome pieces and found that it removed rust and rust staining easily and quickly without scratchingand the residue rinsed off with plain water. Iam not having the same luck cleaning the paint that the previous owner had neglected. Anyone have a suggestion on aproduct that will do the job without having to spend a week scrubbing .
