1. +1 for Steve's light bar. Works and looks great! Probably the best investment I have made in terms of safety.
2. I sure would like to come and meet some more local Venture riders but that weekend is the MS Society ride from Duluth to White Bear Lake and I help out as a route safety rider. Nice couple of days on the Venture for a good cause. Next time...
3. Looks like this idea got buried under the snow, along with everything else... Still a great idea for any weekend coming up soon!
4. I'm up for it. I agree with cimmer that a restaurant may be more of a sure thing that early in May. If it ends up looking like a great day there's nothing to stop us from taking the loooong way

SNOW

50F with 25-30mph winds from the NNW and a touch of sleet. All this while I was doing route safety for an MS Society bicycle fundraising ride. They were real troopers today!
6. Since there's no riding to be done in this winter that won't die we went to the local Victory/Yamaha/Suzuki/Honda dealer yesterday to kick tire and make vroom vroom noise. I love the Victory cruisers and bobbers, the touring bikes...not so much. The 8-Ball has always been a favorite though!
7. Now that I have a brand new 2011 RSV for riding with my wife I took my '05 VTX-1800N back to basics. I had it decked out with windshield, stereo, passenger floorboards, etc. You know...all the stuff that I love about my RSV. This one will be my town cruiser when I feel like showing off my tattoos and looking more like a "biker":Cartoon_397:
8. Wow, that's pretty lame. How much cost to Yamaha is involved in buying the better stuff? You would think that with smart volume buying that the cost would not be such an issue.
9. Well I was talking to the dealer about picking up the bike this week if the snow melts and the polar bears leave town he informed me that my "brand new" 2011 has the iPod system which includes an 8GB iPod Touch! After downloading and looking through the manual, the last few posts have been making more sense. I am coming from a 2005 Honda VTX-1800N with the Kuryakyn Sounds of Chrome system using a RAM mount with my iPod. Going to be a nice audio upgrade! Thanks for the tips...can't wait to get it out riding.
10. So you can only select from 5 playlists? I would rather be riding than organizing my whole iTunes library! I also wondered if "shuffle" mode is available. That is my default setting for riding so I can pay more attention to what I'm doing and let the iPod select the tunes. The handlebar option is sure cheaper and would allow for use of iTunes Match, Pandora, Spotify, GPS, etc.
11. Thanks Brian, That system looks pretty good too. Nice to know that there are some rockin' options
12. Thanks for the write up and the pics. Nice clean install and you get some saddlebag real estate back to boot. Looks like a nice addition!
13. Star newbie here... Does anyone have any experience with the iSimple system? I have a brand new 2011 Venture S that has the CD changer in the saddlebag. If I understand from the ads the setup is pretty simple. Unplug the CD changer, plug in the iSimple and the iPod, use the handlebar audio controls to run everything from there. So...any reviews? Thanks, Jeff
