I had this issue on my '06. It was a 2 fold issue, The fuse for the fan was bad and then the fuel pump was in the process of failing.1 point

Cycle the key when it stops, listen if the fuel pump clicks normally. Really sounds like the fuel tank vent is plugged as already mentioned.1 point
