Sidestand Help

OK I go a new side stand...(last one broke) I am trying to put the new (to me) one on and can't figure out how the spring holder fits on... I just can't seem to figure it out. How does that bracket and spring work?

Looked at some schematics...still confused:confused24::confused24:....my brain is just on working! I guess I stayed up too late last night!!
