2009 oil filter change

Recommended Posts

Purolator PL14610 and PL14612 used to work but don't anymore. They changed the threaded end from concave to convex flange so now they won't seal the O-ring now. We had a long discussion about this several months ago.

@ Kirby, thanks for the reminder / correction.

Note: I went back to my post (ref: post #6 above), and made this correction thanks to you! :happy34:

Trying to figure out what happened here ? I started out lost trying to find info on filter for my RSV, got more info than I could digest then tried to dispose of filters for Honda wings that I previously owned, then find out I have a 6 year supply of Yamaha RSV filters.

What a site and what a lot of help - Thanks all !!

Here is another cross reference chart to add to what Eck and TJ posted that I found when searching alternative filter brands.

The chart cross references RSV filters that can be used on other bike and even some car and vise-versa.

It was real close to trash, they are already sitting on the floor by the wastebasket. Had Du-Rron not pointed out that they were the same as nearly everything else I would have dumped them. I didn't see ypour last message til afterwards.
