Kic mentioned the PGR's will be helping this Saturday... As the semi trucks deliver wreaths to vets resting places around country. On way up to Phoenix today... passed semi loaded with wreaths. Sides were decorated with wreaths on graves. Cool. Gave driver thumbs up as I zoomed by on 2nd gen...

Going to try and make it in North Phoenix this Saturday.

Never knew about this... Thanks, Bill for letting me know. I don't get my email on road so it was news to me.

I'm involved with my local PGR group, we're meeting tomorrow at 0500 to head to Ft. Pierce to escort Walmart's trailers to the National Cemetery in Lake Worth. We'll empty the trailers and stage the wreaths in the different sections. Saturday we're at it again, placing a wreath on each of the 15,000 grave markers. It's a huge undertaking and I'm proud to be a part of it.

This year PGR and Full Throttle are helping in the laying of the wreaths here in Tucson. It's a very humbling and such an honor to do. My wife is going this year too. :usa:

Wreaths Trucks.jpgIt was an early 5:30am start, a 65 mile ride to the distribution center graced us with two 10 minute periods of substantial rain. During the next hour bikes just kept arriving. Walmart fed us a continental breakfast and after a safety briefing we saddled up and headed to the cemetery. All 125 of us. The trip was without incident and impressive, as indicated by many bystanders filming the ride along the way.

In less than three hours after arrival, four trailers were unloaded, boxes were opened wreaths were counted and staged at each section of the cemetery. After cleanup, and a quick lunch we left without leaving a trace other than the 15,000 neatly stacked wreaths ready for placement on Saturday.

I was shocked to learn, on average, seven of our Nation's Heros are interned at this National Cemetery EVERY day.

Mission completed. Had a very large turnout considering the cold weather and rain. Stood the flag line for over an hour and was honored to hold the U.S Coast Guard flag in the flag line. A rider on horseback delivered the Gold Star Mother's flag. A revolutionary (dressed) honor guard delivered the American flag, State of Arizona Flag and the Disabled American Veterans flag. Also had the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and a 21 Gun Salute. What an humbling honor ! :usa:
