Exhaust Gasket with Barons Nasty Boys Slip-ons?

Recommended Posts

I'm questioning whether or not there should be a gasket on my slip ons or not? I know the stock exhaust had gaskets, but when I installed the Baron's slip-ons my buddy who helped me said there shouldn't be a need.

Well, last week when checking on my leaky rear shock I was laying next to the bike and reaching under while it was running and I could feel an exhaust leak where the slip-ons are clamped. I checked and it is leaking on both sides right here (wonder if this explains some of my popping on deceleration?) So I went to the tool box and got out the tools and tightened up both clamps as tight as I could get them to pull up, and the leaks are no better.

So, this made me wonder, should there actually be a gasket in there?

Thanks for your input guys. I'll be changing out my rear shock Saturday, Hagon is in the mail to me, can't wait, but might be back looking for more help!
