For what its worth,, was in our local Auto Zone picking up some car parts, noticed they had a few spin on filters for bikes so I asked if they could get filters for all bikes.. Guy dug thru his vendors and found Fram filters for Tweeks,, my 83 XVZ12.. Ordered a couple, 5 bucks a piece shipped to my door (free ship). Got em today (ordered last Friday),, was pleasently surprised that they came with all the O-rings too - cool!!

Part number CH6002 (Fram filter number)....

Gotcher back..

Advance Auto had them for years for 3 bucks but they are getting hard to find. I went to the spin-on on "Brown Sugar" just before I parked her for the year. I think I heard a sob when I went to garage the other day...

Know what cha mean Dan,,, Tweeks was NOT a happy camper after sittin around all winter either,, watchin me ride off on this ol war bike - even knowing full well that it is NOT a replacement for her, she STILL copped an attitude:confused24:

Found out though with a little bit of lovin,, scratchin her back with some new plugs and carb sync, ticklin her feet with some new brake pads and caliper piston cleanin, massagin her legs with some new tires, little hydraulic fluid transfusion, talkin (NICELY,, ya gotta learn to talk NICELY to em Dan,, dont be so dog gone grumpy around your bikes bro..) to her the whole time about how much fun the three of us are gonna have this summer and guess what,,,,,,,, Tippy and I took a test ride on her yesterday,,,, now there is one longggg legged fast ol bike,, she maybe a beat up tired ol girl but still loves to run.... I swear I could her saying,,, "tellin ya Puc, gimmee another shot at the summer fun title,, come on ol man,, I still got it",,,,,,,,

We shall see Tweeks,,, we shall see...

Will this spin right on? My last change had a paper filter that went inside a housing .P.I.A. to get the O ring on. Or do you have an adapter plate to accept spin on's Thanks Bill

The trick on that o-ring is to stick it in place with a gob of grease. Doesn't hurt to unpackage it the day before so it can relax either.
